It's going to raise its head sooner or later (and this is an arguement thats been going on in re-enactment for decades), but are there any units that some would consider "unacceptable" for recreating at a WW2 Airsoft game?
And before anyone asks, im not considering turning up in something *totally* outrageous (i.e. dressed as Himmler)

See my post elsewhere re dodgy SS units . Waffen fighting units, 1st 2nd 3rd SS Pz Div etc are fine IMHO , ones that were involved in just mass slaughter of civilians or internal suppression would be beyond my reasoning . Dirlewanger, Handschar ,Britishe Freikorps, crap like that .
I can just about follow the reasoning for portraying the "elite" fighting units (although still maintain most of them were Nazi cunts who commited war crimes) but I would question given the wide range of units one could portray why a player would seek out specific units noted only for their inhuman behaviour.
To me personally, it would seem they were glorifiying something for which our forefathers died to stop , and from that reasoning be highly distasteful . I would also suspect them of being of an extreme Right persuasion, which I also find fecking unacceptable, I'm thinking C18 / BNP type of cnut here.
I can't think of any Allied unit I'd find unacceptable, and TBH most general Werhmacht impressions would be ok by me too . I'd rather players went for a general look than specific to a unit , but thats only my preference .
TBH IMO you could come dressed as Himmler if it was a definitive part of the game storyline , same as I'd welcome a Patton or a Churchill, but if a player turned up dressed like him for no reason other than he thought Himmler was cool, I'd take a dim view.
The above not intended to upset anyone , just feel I make it quite clear my position on this , although I'm sure I've laboured this one before . 
Yup, I'm with you there. All makes sense to me. Fighting units yay, Allgemeine SS etc etc nay.
