Just noticed these two posts seemingly contradicting each other

Personally don't mind the odd modern sale or two , but suggest need ot have a consistant approach .
Well I'm currently in a heated argument with Gadge about this...
I've deleted the thread once and he has also threatened to leave CiA
He is unwilling to discuss that the G18C is way too modern a pistol to be sold on the forums.
Neither threads were worth deleting or arguing about IMHO , just thought it looked a bit "one rule for for you and one for us" although purely accidental I'm sure.
I did wonder why it popped back up again ! ![]()
My point is that a pisto lis a pistol in our rules.
its a normal looking pistol and goes under our counts as.
I'm offering someone the chance of a cheap aep that they can use at our games.
Are we going to ban m14s and vsr sales cos they are 'modern'
As far as im concerned if its usuable at our games it fair to post.
We're noa militaria forum are we or a re-enacment dealer.
its about stufff that can be used at our games.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
What I don't want on these forums is a long string of modern kit sales... This is a WW2 forum. There are plenty of modern forums to buy and sell your modern kit on without cluttering up these forums.
Point being i've been *using* the bugger at the last three game sand all of a sudden it becomes 'unnaceptable'

Don't really care either way depends how you interpret this I suppose .

Look a-like items are fine, but guns (etc) that are clearly not WW2 at all should be avoided.
Under weapons on the main page lads it says:
Any pistol with standard magazines.

Thats the CiA game rules... these are the CiA for sale rules...
Clearly hence there is the potential for a clash of ideals...
So... I ask you all this. Do you want the for sale forums to be more strictly for WW2 items only or close look-a-likes or more flexible and allow all modern stuff we'd allow in the games in?
Or... how about modern guns for conversion to WW2, should they be allowed?
What does everyone feel?
Where do we draw the line.
I think I've made my thoughts clear.
I'm prepared to change the content of my "Sales Rules" post to meet the final decision of CiA.
Gadge, I've asked once before and I'll ask once more... please can we remove this sale for the time being until we have a decision?
Which states look-a-likes ar efine
we all agreed look a likes in the case of pistols was that any pistol is fine.
As i've said i dont think we should ban any sale that can be used in one of our games, its ludicrous.
I can use an ak as an Mp44 but i cant *buy* one?
Can i sell my Ak, my m14 or my VSR?
Can i sell my Green and chrome western arms tactical sport pistol custom 1911 or does the custom paint job make it a nono?
I odnt see why its such a big deal, to be honest i wouldnt have banned morgs tent either, as its merely a way of making camping comfier at events and would be under covers..
I think we need to be a bit less draconian at times.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
BTW, Gadge I also have a TM G18C I'd like to sell... I wouldn't have even considered selling it on our forums... so please don't take this personally. Its not meant personally.
I feel the sales rules should reflect waht can be used in our games, its logical.
And please dont remove the post *until* we've made decision, i odnt mind changing for a majority conscnesus but i wont do it for one persons opinion even if they are friend Rich.
Sorry we're clashing over this mate but i really think that we have to make the sales relevant to the games.
If its usable in game then its fair play to sell it.
The only bit of my post that contravenes our rules and even our ethos is the taclight battery but its useless without the gun, its a free extra so to speak.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Well I'm of the opinion that every moment that post exists that it sets a precedent as to what is allowed on the forum.
It not being there would not set a precedent in the slightest and hence is the correct neutral position until a decision has been made.
Right
i've removed it in the interests of group harmony and good will.
NOT because i was *told* to or somebody threatend to remove my forum privileges liek a naughty school boy (that seriously fucked me off, that why i said i was going to jack it in...)
However i still feel that if its in our game rules its fair to sell or buy it.
We're hypocrites otherwise.
I also feel we need to be laxer about non game related sales if they indirectly benefit the game.
If someones selling a mozzy net (and god it would have ben useful at CR then if its out of game accesories to make life easier to the player it should stay.

Thanks for that...
You have my apologies for removing it earlier... but the red mist came down... as I think it did for you too.
Now we're calmed down a little I think we can discuss this properly.
I hope the others can help as we really are at loggerheads with this one.
I have always wanted CiA members and the forum to set an example to the others to help improve impressions above and beyond the lowest common denominator. We set the level low to start, but always encourage people to do better...
Hence I have the view that the selling of items of this kind, which really aren't look-a-likes despite our rules, should not be encouraged on the forums.
Nay worries Rich, i apologise for being a bit sharp myself.
I see your point entirely and i'm willing to concede that perhaps as organisers we dont sell look a likes, but i dont think we should stop players from doing so.
I do also still believe that camping or outdoors kit shoudl be exempt form the WWII disclaimer as long as its not being used in game.
In fact we really ought to recommend lightweight modern waterproofs ar e packed for 24 hour game given past experience.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Christ almighty!
I would be quite happy to carry a 'non WW2 for sale' thread as a service to our members. Don't want WW2 kit sale threads cluttered up with all and sundry, that much is agreed. Chaps have kit they don't want and can use the money to buy WW2 kit. Win, win.
This has absolutely nothing to do with what kit we allow/don't allow in games. We provide a service to fellow airsofters for arse's sake!
And if there is any more talk about removing fellow organiser's privileges it will be from me and it will be final. Hope that's clear.

IMHO The less fucking rules the better . All they do is cause arguments, can we not let common sense and a sense whats important guide us rather than having a list of shite rules to wipe our arse by ?
We have no real idiots on this forum , and therefore we don't have to run it like ASCUK . If we get some idiots we can be a lil more forceful as it needs it .
CW , pls remove everyone rights , I'm voting for you as Fuhrer !
