Touched upon the subject of a WW2 day at CSU on sunday with Jacko (head marshall). Seems VERY up for it. It was just a passing question, no more in-depth than that.
However, numbers, would be extremely limited. 30 MAX. The site aint that big, but due to the nature of it, if used well, it seems a lot bigger. Cost for a standard game day is

Sounds good... plus could be linked with a trip to sabre sales?
Yup, easily. It's less than 10 mins drive from Sabre, and if you want to make a weekend of it, Fort Nelson, just along from CSU is the Royal Armouries Artillery museum, and definately worth a look round. Thinking 'bout it there's lots of WW2 related stuff in Pompey ![]()

Well the possibility of linking a few items together always makes the journey more worth while... ![]()
So is there a map/plan of the site?
heh, nothing that simple
- if i can find an overall map of the site, i'll see if i can construct one for the gaming areas.
Multiple levels, Long tunnels, Moats, walls, arches, stairs. Feckloads of stuff. Some parts of it require the almost mandatory use of Pyro. Reminds me, no smoke grenades inside, and 9mm blanks for BFG's - no 12 Gauge ones. They tend to use TLSFX pyro, so it would be worth getting in contact with Tony directly to get prices (frankly, his stuff craps on the Dangerzone and Enola Gaye stuff ive used before)

Here' an off the wall thought , what about making a weekend but not in a % irsoft sense. Have a smallish game at the site, and organise a museum trip or something for the day after ? Great as an icebreaker , worked a treat when doing the 4*4 stuff I organise.
Sounds like a good idea. LOTS of WW2 stuff in Pompey and the surrounding area - I know that part of the world well, as my mums family come from there.
And....
Gunwharf Quay is GREAT for a: drinking b: female students with loose morals

In kit lad, in kit ! Mind you we'd have to leave Gadge behind to have a chance , he's a bit too good looking to drag around dodgy nightclubs ![]()
I lived in pompey briefly

Oh, there's a couple of well-known clubs in the area he'd fit into *perfectly*. Not many lasses frequent them though ![]()

I don't think he swings that way Kermit .
Mind you if he could act as a fanny magnet perhaps I could have a crack at the drunker less good looking mates !
Anyway here's a thought , airsoft saturday , club saturday night whilst booked onto some camp site , then nurse hangover and a trip round Pompeys museuems on Sunday !
Aye im up for that.

What being a fanny magnet
Wait till Steve reads this thread , I reckon he'd be up for a night out shagg....sorry ...days airsofting in Pompey too ![]()
You know what i appear to have seriously lost my mojo these days since breaking up with scarlett so i reckon a change of scne could do me good...

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Ah you just need to drink more beer and spend less time playing with guns !
If we're going to do this (sorry our southern coordinatoer is going to do this) we ought to look to do something simple and easy, sort of "CiA lite" if it's just for 30 players. More social than historical .
PS looks like CSU's site bloke has just joined us (Zero 2?)
Sounds horrific....sorry.

Which bit ? ![]()
Sounds like a good plan to me - and maybe something that could be slotted in around one of the *major* events - for several reasons:
1: Give people not sure of doing a big event an intro to WW2 airsoft.
2: Gives us a chance to prostitute it everywhere, and use it as advertising for bigger events.
3: It gets CS onside. They have lots of space on their shop walls for posters ![]()

Er... I see a problem with the plan... I'm sure sabre won't be open on sunday!
