I'd keep debate till after Arnhem , as it revolves around where to do it as much as anything else . Not against it in principal .

We have the potential for "the" November game do we want to run another big one between CR and that .

Also do we want ot consider doing "CiA lites" , ie lower numbers less detail just to keep people on the boil or is that too much effort?

All can be discussed at Caen , just throwing up ideas for now.

My knowledge of sites is pretty poor.

I'm slightly concerned about the LARP guy's ideas. I think it would get too mixed up with his LARP stuff and could be overkill at this stage in our 'career'. By the longest stretch of the imagination the players who attended on Sunday aren't LARPers, and neither am I.

If we were to go to that site would it have to be 'CiA plan and run a LARP game with airsofters involved' or the other way around? Also hate his political role-playing idea.

Wasn't LARPing what you were doing on Sunday Steve? Or is it more like those nerdy board games with dice and stuff played out for real?

Webby has an idea for a game that might suit LFW.

Techinically we were edging towards LARP, but in reality we were talking in silly accents and being daft for a while.

Most airosfters don't have the attention span to listen to medic rules and remember which way the front line is, let alone all the rules and regs of LARP, which is much more involved and requires people to stay in character and remember history, backstory and scenario in a much more active way.

I know a guy who does this as a Viking 'Wolf' and when he and his wolf colleages got 'killed' at a massive event (they use rubber swords) they built a massive wooden long boat and burnt it at their 'funeral'. Many of the women were in tears...

Thank you for the education. I thought we were a bit weird, now I am much comforted. Never been into Dungeons & Dragons type stuff and can't understand WTF Warhammer is all about (sorry Yith ) oh, and I can't remember rules so I guess from your criteria Steve that airsoft is the game for me!

CiA Lite for an Autumn game gets my vote. Will start bouncing some ideas around my cranium.

I used to do quite a bit of LARP.

Most notable are the Vampires...
- 600+ year old Eco-friendly anarchist Monk. Went on a mad rampage killing folks and then started trying to get forgiveness...
- 600+ year old ugly sneaky miller's son who's made it big through intrigue

But I've also played a Demon, a chemist on a Scottish island infested with ghosts, a wealthy evil landowner who was responsible for the witch trials in Salem, a spy, a wizard in a sci-fi world who pretended he was a fake, an evil Cardinal in the count of Marie Antoinette. And others...

What about a 'mini' game down south Kermit? Hitler's bunker or somesuch.

UCAP would be an interesting venue. Would have to be restricted numbers, say 30. Would require some prep work though, as WW2 guns hardly came with Surefire weaponlights! However, with a decent number of cyalume lightsticks and well placed spotlights you could create a very eerie playing area. Especially with the OS "sound machine of doom" playing a track of explosions and such.

I'll give the guy who runs it a shout, then bugger off down there with the camera one day next month to do a photo-recce.

Just been scanning through a book about Germany's "Secret WW2 Weapons". seems that both the brits and yanks put specialist teams together to fight their way into German scientific establishments to raid technology before the germans could destroy it - some of which happened in various underground bases over all parts of the Reich.

Absolutely. We don't always have to stick to historic accuracy that much. We could always say things like 'a specialised joint-nations Allied task force' or somesuch guff.

Funnily enough, there were joint teams searching for Nazi scientific secrets. Except they worked against each other most of the time, even when part of the same unit! - that could lead to some interesting plot developments for a game...
