Its total bollocks, but we have to put up with it as WW2 re-enactors.
Okay... so the way my re-enacting group deals with this is to not allow their members to belong to ANY political party.
I'd just like to say I think this should also apply to us lot. I'm fairly sure that none of do have allegiances to any political party, but if you do then please let us know.
Personally I'd prefer this type of bollocks journalist to have no way to link in to our little group of organisers.

BUT, I think we should ban anyone with an unhealthy interest in war, soldiers, weaponry, military vehicles, camps out in woodlands in remote areas of the country and pretends to kill people, and who is a citizen of a country that is happy to invade a country on the back of spurious supposition.

Agree with all that ....however I don't feel the need to explain to you the power of said media...and how they will hapilly fuck things up if it means sales.
We can't ignore these issues nor can we get too bothered by them either .
I think we should ban men who dress in fish nets and leather but that would mean at least 50% of CiA would have ot go to the wall

Acutally I'm back ot agreeing with David . Are you saying you can't be a member of this forum if your a BNP supporter ? On you just can't be a member of CiA ? I don't think any of us have extreme feelings for anything apart from the correct shade of green on a Chindit hat, or the corretc number of medals on an M36 blouse. .

How about this then...
All Political Party memberships MUST be declared to us when joining CiA or if they start whilst already a member of CiA.
If someone objects to the membership then a vote may be taken and that person will be ejected from the group. But meh... that should apply to any reason for forced leaving of the group.
As said hopefully it'd never come to this... but its better to have a an idea what we'd do if it did become necessary.
Anyway... I reckon the point has been made... no need to go any further, everyone is aware of the issues and we can leave it at that.

Ah common sense returns to the debate . 
To an extent the whole way CiA came about was rather haphazard . We did it to do the Bulge, and it grew from there . I don't think any of us hold extreme views , and if one of us did go off the rails I'm sure we'd cross that bridge when we come to it.
This biggest danger ot us is from the members , get a few rogues join and try to hijack and event , or start posting pics of our event on dodgy websites trying to show support for their own agendas . Even then I'm confident thesix of us couldhandle it in the normal way , (probably with a six page argument ,followed by several phone calles follwed by a good course of action )
Perhaps a line in the About us bit of the webby along the usual lines of not supporting political creeds etc , I'm sure you know that better than me .
