Sorry, FIBUA training DID exist - particularly in the British Army. I have first hand-accounts from one of my relatives (on the Brit side of the family) that there was intensive "streetfighting" training carried out in bombed out areas of london, coventry and portsmouth from '40 onwards. Hell, i've got some pics of it happening in Portsmouth!

Heh... When I can get one that isn't like that, I will... Hence I am NOT a farb (in this case... though I probably am in other areas)
I've sent a polite pm saying that im really up for doing it, explaining why i dont think i should be teaching modern stuff and saying if he doenst mind me teaching period drills im ok to do it by but unfortunately I am unwilling to teach modern skills in use by hm forces.
As i say guys the bread and butter is the same its just taking the time to learn the differences .
its much the same as i feel we should use 40s phonetic in our scenarios rather than

TBH, SH should *know* gun group/rifle group section skills as it was taught up until about 1990, anyone whose ever been a cadet as a kid knows it.
I hop you see my point about the stupidity of teaching people how to put cam cream on properly for wwii days.

Everything we do now was learn t from the germans at Stalingrad and the airborne at arnhme.
obviously folk learn t how to fight in built up areas but it was the discipline it is now.

doing it to win and doing it cos its easy are bad reasons.
As i say it took me less than a few hours to source the info to do it in a 40s style.

Let me make this clear, I have NOT talked to him either. I have talked with Gadge on MSN on this subject and on this post... thats it.
If SH feels this way, then he's even more of a drama queen than me!
If someone wants to go and do some damage limitation then go for it.
Failing that is it worth taking this session off him? After all from his post it sounds like he's burning his bridges and it would be a shame to let everyone else down.

A shame to let them down... something can be done. There are still people who have training knowledge without SH being involved.
It would only be out of propriety to him not to do it... but to be honest he's not actually gone out of his way to go about this nicely... "burned his bridges"... so why not?
