Indeed, looking at it objectively you do come across as being very domineering in your opinion, and somewhat arrogant, if you'll excuse that. I'm saying you are arrogant, it's just your writing style comes across like that to someone who you are basically criticising.

I take quite a bit of exception to you saying that it's not what you and Yith want CiA to be doing....what about the rest of us? You seem to be speaking on the behalf of CiA with only the opinion of two people, which isn't acceptable.

Finally you finish by saying that a third party should be removed from the booking list which implies that you've been canvassing opinion from everyone else and trying to undermine SH. Again, not saying that's what you have done, but it is how it looks to an outsider, and probably to SH too.

That's my 2p anyway.

Please, if you are going to quote 'the direction CiA want to go in' then make sure you have spoken to all members and are speaking on behalf of the majority. In this case you aren't. Although I don't really see why Chris chooses to teach modern technique, it's really up to him and those that attend to decide for themselves, not for us to castigate him.

He's making a real effort and is bringing people together outside of out events. That should be applauded and encouraged, regardless of whether you think his style is in-keeping with your own.

Be more objective about things and try to consider what the effect and perception towards on the organisation you are representing will be before posting. Even if the opinion is purely your own, you are perceived on here as an organiser and your opinion will be construed as that of the CiA.

I said its the way yith and i want things to go namely cis not the way cia want things to go, dont twist my words steve.

Evo is my mate, i talk to him about most things, i spoke to him about how i was feeling he said modern stuff was bollocks and he didnt want to go.

If you think thats arrogant, fine, its not its direct.

I'm not going to change my entire personality to mollycoddle a stroppy player.

I wonder why i bother trying to have standards...

why odnt we just all run around with union jacks or swatikas on armbands.. thats wwii isnt it...

Yes, I agree. He's knee-jerking a little bit. Which is why Guy has asked him to consider his thoughts overnight.

People see red and throw toys. I've done it, we all have. It's why I had to take 5 minutes to myself to collect my thoughts at the end of CR!

I hope SH will change his mind.

But a lesson for us all here I think! Think before you post! I've written so many posts, then just deleted them because when I've considered it further it's been inappropriate.

Gadge

Re-read what I've written. It's not what I think, it's how I've looked at it objectively and how I suspect it's been construed by a third party. You're right, your style is very direct, which is fine, but will rub people up the wrong way.

The way you've written your reply to my post is almost perfectly demonstrative. It comes across as aggressive, opinionated and confrontational. Fortunately I know that you aren't like that, but others might not.

E.G. The phrase 'I wonder why I bother trying to have standards...' comes across very arrogant and implies that others don't have standards that are as high as yours. Again, not what I think you are saying, but is how it reads.

These were pms not posts and remember he was asking for my services i was telling him what i was up for doing.

I was doing him a favour, if he doesnt want whats on offer then its fine for him to say no thanks.

Chucking the event over it is ludicrous.

He has a surplus of instructors, there is nothing i could offer that eventthat his forces chums ccant do as well or better than a bit of WWII put in,.

cos at the moment there isnt any.

Not my cup of tea.

I wont apologise for having standards or a vision of how i would like things to be.

My head is starting to hurt from all of this. But there is one thing we ALL need to remember.

This training day is (was?) NOT a CIA event

If we dont like something thats not to do with us, then politely decline - hell, just come up with an excuse - but this training day is driven by the grassroots players banding together.

As it stands, CiA as a whole looks bad - no matter who said what to whom. That is something that needs avoiding like the plague in the future.

Now we're a country we're run by a..........

I am opinionated steve, i have very strong opinions on things.

I'm also quite aggressive when i know i'm right :)

i also think that the standards i have are *not* the same as some of us orgnisers let alone players or i wouldn't be accused of 'stitchcounting' when i ask for players to be in the right *theatre* of war let alone a specific time zone.

i think some people are quite happy to run around in green combats with a flag tacked to their sleeve.

thats not wwii airsoft to me, i think my standards are little higher than that.

I think what we do is excellent, i just see an trend to want to dumb things down in the name of inclusivity, but by now i think with a player base we shoudl be raising that bar, not lowering it.

Right now i'm pretty narked about all this, its the first time i've been narked in about five weeks.

Shame really.

But as i've said i'm not wrong on this one anrefuse to take the blame for stubblehopper canceling.

Hes a big lad and a ex professional soldier surely my 'tone' didn't upset him that much?

reeks of a poor excuse to me.

Rich, seriously, can you not see how any of Gadge's posts appear to be giving the opinion of CiA?

It may not look bad to the majority of players, yet, but it does look like CiA carry a negative opinion towards Chris's training days, regardless if it's just the opinion of two people.

Steve... the posts were private to SH... hence if they don't go any further then CiA cannot be implicated in the slightest.

Only if you have a very poor command of the English language.

The words 'its not how Yith and I would like CiA to go' does not imply *anybody* else.

The only person i have potentially wronged here is Rich for including him in a PM.

In fact i think i put my entire first response up didnt i?

Sorry if i am being snappy now but i'm incredibly pissed off at how a mardy player is apparently all my fault.

I dont even think its *legal* to teach current HM forces drills to civvies regardless of my own ethics.

That all depends on who Chris tells.

Gadge

Again, you are being confrontational.

You are also implying that I don't have a good command of the English language.

If you can't see that your PM to Chris implies that the CiA general opinion is only driven by Yith and yourself then you aren't looking at it carefully enough or objectively.
