Thinking about putting in an order with FoR over the next few weeks - how did people get on with him, how long did the delivery take, etc.

Also, what kit did you buy (for continuity)? Summer or the padded uniform? 8)

Hmm my last post disappeared into the ether.

Just to say its recommended you phone them rather than use any online methods. They are crap at answering emails (or they were at any rate). Kit is supposed to be good tho.

I have both summer and winter kit. It depends how cold you think you're gonna get. The padded jackets are great but they are VERY warm. Not so good for a hot day but perfect for usual British spring weather :D However you will freeze in the summer kit (unless you pad it out underneath) should it be colder.

Cheers Diggah, was beginning to think no-one was interested!

I hope their English is better than my Russian, if I have to phone. I have a padded jacket amd trousers somewhere but they may be in a grotty Ikea bag in my mum's shed, and at any rate they were tight on me at age 18... :x

I' think I'd probably rather a greatcoat, anyway - does the French/American M47 double well enough?

Heh sorry for the delay. Im off filming for 6 weeks so only get a chance to view this thing vary rarely.

Yeah for the look I'd say your M47 is fine. The collar is different but meh, its only airsoft :)

Ah Sorry wrong company. For some reason I had Trident Military in my head ! :D (and thats american i think). You should be fine with these guys but as with all these Ukrainian/Russian companies give them a month to post :D

Also worth noting that you may need to restitch parts of the jacket if its anything like mine. Its a nice jacket but the stitching was a little shoddy.

:)

Alex from Front of Russia is alright. Reasonably fast shipping....just don't order your boots from him. I did not get the ones I asked for last time.

Apart from that he's fine.

He only accepts direct bank transfers as payment, this adds to the cost a lot unfortunately. But he tends to add small items to your order sometimes. Last time I got a Russian Parachute regiment patch (totally useless for WW2 re-enactment though).

Sorry to drag up a dead thread but recieved an email today from Front of Russia saying :

Dear Reenactors and collectors! We are glad to invite you to visit us again after we have added several hundred of new items into all chapters of the store. Have a nice buy! Sincerely, Alex,

http://www.frontofrussia.com/

No personally I cant see very much new there but then again I havent had a trawl in a while. There are still loads of entries with no description or price but may be worth you while having a look.

Oops, Sorry Kavster. The boots took about a week to get here to the NL. Not sure if shipping to the UK would take much longer.

Any idea how long it usually takes him to respond to emails? I've emailed to ask about a few extra items before I place my order and was wondering how long I should give him to respond before I try again?

Um about a week or so if memory serves. Sometimes its pretty quick though. If you're worried try again :)
