So I bet you’re all wondering “Comrade Commissar. How can I portray a Partisan of the Glorious Red Army for the up coming Battle of Bryansk Forests game?â€
... no? Oh.
Well in case you were heres a list of what you can get and where
Basic Partisan Kit
Jumper / Shirt / waistcoat : You can pick these up in a variety of places; ebay, charity shops etc. Look for that 40s look.
Trousers: Cords work well but other wise think wool etc. Ebay and charity shops seem to work well or M&S ![]()
Boots : Should be black but any colour will do. As with all airsoft games, they should ideally be ankle supporting.
Extras
Coat : Also known as a Shinel. These were the mainstay of any Soviet troop type. You can get away with any roughly brown woolen overcoat (US greatcoats work well). You can also pick them up on ebay, from one of the Soviet Kit retailers (see Soviet Kit thread) or from Rusmilitary : http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/shinel_coat.htm
Raincape / Plash-Palatka : Great for those Soviet Sniper looks. Also works very well with pretty much any clothing with the added bonus of put 2 together and make a shelter ![]()
You can pick up post war ones on ebay (metal rings/gromits) or you can order a WWII repro one (leather rings) from Russian Front : http://www.russianarsenal.com/product_i ... cts_id=310 (note orders from these guys can take 1 month BUT they do come through)
Puttees : Yes those annoying strips from WWI are back and this time they’re ruskie : http://www.russianarsenal.com/product_i ... cts_id=513 They work well hiding Magnum boots
but they can be a pain to get fitted right (and stay up).
Jackboots : German ones work. Pretty much anything black and boot like will do (no stiletto heels please
)
You can also combine this with any number of Soviet kit (see sticky in this subsection) or go for full soviet loadout ![]()
Feel free to add more info and I’ll append it to this post.

Cool means I'm nearer than I thought I was

Guy had a nice looking Partisan loadout at the last TD, I wish I'd taken a photo of him now! Fur cossack hat leather box jacket and jackboots. Oh yes, and a full face shaggy beard, that's an optional extra!
I thought that was his normal get-up, tramp style... ![]()

I'm not the one with a drink problem ......
Hoisted by my own petard... ![]()

Couple of reference pictures of female partisans, pics taken from Frauen-warte article (German womens NS Frauenschaft funded magazine from 1941)

I did have a look but wasn't sure where to stick them, so this post will do ![]()

Works for me ![]()
