its a 42

Cool. Nice to know we have at least one MG coming as well. I don't mind being your No 2 if you like. :good: I fell I need to find a 7.92 ammo belt to look the part though.

Excellent mate :good: A 250 round Patronenkasten 34 would be just as good and could actually be used to store BB's. I plan to get some of these at some point along with a Laufschutzer, dunno if anyone else has any we could borrow?

I will also bring my MG3 laffette so we could use it as a full crew served weapon, might be good for defensive scenarios. technically it should have a crew of 3 for that and would need 3 to carry it around strecher style.

I think a seperate thread is a very good idea Martin :good:

BTW, who is leading the the FJ contingent of the Kampfgruppe? will it be Leutnant Fandagalos again?

So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

Ok, great. I can cope with carrying an ammo tin. A tripod would look very good, assuming there is a suitable scenario to use it in. If we're going for proper tactics/squad disposition we need a 3rd MG team member anyway; to be accurate ideally it would be the squad 2IC who ever that may be.

I don't know but Carl is the logical choice, if he wants to that is.

I have:-

One drum mag is used for airsoft, the other for show.

and a couple of MG3 7.62mm Ammo cans - they are slightly smaller than the WKII versions, but might be ok to use? I normally keep spare batteries, tools, oils etc in one of them.

On a more serious note, seeing that pic of your drum mags has reminded me I need to re-spray my drum mag to get rid of the nasty Yugo slime green colour. Is RAL6006 the correct colour?

Not sure Mr B, when I first got them I thought they were black black, but they aren't - so RAL 6006 could be right.

The drums and carrier are 1943 dated, but I know the carrier has been over-painted. The drums came wrapped in oil paper in the carrier.

Anything is better than Yugo green

I think maybe yours are Dunkelgrau RAL 7021 which is also a correct colour .RAL 6006 is Feldgrau same as the stahlhelms. I think they did them in apfelgrun too. mine is definitly post war Yugo and covered in tonnes of nasty Cosmoline! Bloody stuff is a bugger to get rid of. :x

I bet yours wern't cheap if they are dated and waffenampt'd

I'm happy to lead or to be lead, but I don't know what the PBI organizers have in mind for command structure. Best to wait and see.

Yup... it will be decided in due course. I know pretty much what's happening on the Allied side. Evo and Gadge will sort the Axis side.

Yeah, soz, I'm getting excited for this one already  I'm just keen for us to get a bit organised so we can try to fight as a coherent and co-ordinated unit, at least for the first 5 minutes.

Remember with PBI games you'll get to regroup at the start of each scenario and so will have more chance to fight as a "coherent and co-ordinated unit"... ;)

Can we have a private Axis game forum where we can talk about things like Schwerpunkt and Kette formations?

Can we have one?

Can we? Can we?

They're the "bad guys" (skulls on their hats, etc, remember?), how could they possibly have been "good"?
