Just wanted to thank those that showed up today , even though some of the squads were quite depleated they fought well and carried on right to the end ,

the weather was kind, no snow , ice or frost, if not quite nice except a bit/lot of a chill , thank god for great coats though i was then sweating to death lol

some great moments from both sides and a nice 7 kill friendly grenade in the 34th :) so we upheld our tradition and i am glad to say it was not cuff or myself :)

Pride you plonker :)

any photos add here so we can all have a nosey and also any cool stories , always liek to hear them in case did not know and may make my article :)

and i hope i am not the only one that is shattered and ache already :( hence the nurofen time ,

oh i know it was only a slight teak on the mission system today but was it better / worse / made no odds lol

also big thanks as always to those that helped take all the props tents etc out then brought them all back at the end of the day

Was another great game - thanks to you guys! By the way sometimes not that bad to have a small squad. You can hide the smaller group better for those sneaky missions... just don't get in any fire fight. We were completely wiped out twice quite quickly. Great fun... thanks again!
Lutz

PS: Found a camera from the failed Intel mission still in my pocket. Where shall I send it to?

Was a brilliant day! Highlight must of been flanking behind the yanks who had ambushed our zug and sneaking close enough behind one to stealth kill him! :happyclap: :happyswing:

Two highlights for me was when the whole German force encircled the Allies and cut them off :D and hiding in the bushes and killing some Americans in the back :D

Thank you for another very enjoyable day out, it was good to be able to wear our warm weather gear in a game, and once again the missions worked very well. We took the Panzerschreck out in the morning as we figured we'd be too tired to do it in the afternoon, and it was really quite amusing lugging a huge steel pipe around, with lots of projections specially designed to catch on every single bush and tree.

The missions were all good fun (although we chickened out of the stealth kills one), but I'm not sure separating them into envelopes added much as we ended up debating them anyway. With the teams having so many demolition missions, it was very atmospheric with all the bangs and drifting smoke, and the big battle at the end was great fun with just a handful of Germans left in the supply base at the end. The less contact oriented missions gave us a chance to practice our movement drills, which was also great fun.

As Lutz said, being a small section was fine, and in fact it made us more manouverable for the more sneaky missions, but we were heavily outgunned in any sort of stand up fight so we often tagged along with one of the other Germans sections. Hats off to Wattsys squad, very professional and effective. I was amazed when we had them surrounded with most of the German team near the supply dump and they shot their way out with excellent target indication, use of cover and teamwork.

Unfortunately my camera battery died, so I guess we'll have to wait for the New York Times official photographs. :)

Cheers
Martin

Great day, but then it always is at Fireball. enjoyed the missions which were mainly around the middle section of the site. the new section of trenches and dugouts are very cool. As usual we did our missions but always seemed to get sucked into some long winded firefight.... we should just run away but the boss never lets us. plenty of high points in the day, fighting two squads around the tyre bunker( sorry toby for the "rear" shots) , Ambushing Chris's squad shooting the first 2 or 3 and then the rest of the US squad took themselves out with a grenade. Low point was I struggled in the afternoon . My fitness levels are terrible , especially after christmas . must get fitter.
Thanks to Chris and the guys

yes was funny you took me and pedro out who were on point then the grenade went off killing everyone else more or less , and me shouting to see which one of you threw such a great grenade to be told it was one of our own lol

also i had that fitness level in the afternoon as well :( god damm turkeys ;)

and lastly Martin what we did is let 1 person more or less pick the envelope then choose the mission , but think you right not sure if it made much difference except even more work for me lol , thought he next game will be slightly different again on them, but thats another day ...

You done another sterling job Mr Wray, considering a few people couldn't make it so you had to reorganise things around which is very frustrating. But it went extremely well so a big thank you for all your hard work you put in :D

The highlight of the day for me was setting up a ambush and after waiting a while two zugs come by at the same time (just like buses lol) we managed to take out both zugs and bug out with minor casualties

The weather was spot on couldn't have asked for better weather :D

Can't wait for the next one :good:

Great game as always put on by the 34th!

Highlights for me was the attack on the german base but not the end one. It just happened that 2 American squads were on a similiar mission during the day and we had made away done the trench / fence line. And we just couldnt break through! I was mediced at least 4 times! (First ever time those Red Medic Bandages have been useful to me) Oh and squad 3 will know what this is about

What can I say?
SQUAD 3 We came, kicked ass, raised and flew the flag, realised our airborne comrade must have had German ancestry after the friendly fire.
But then outdone himself with a text book charge taking it to the gerries..
Pleasure to be part of the squad lads, superb day, thankyou all.
Chris .. Another outing where excelled yourself bud thankyou and well done.

jusy going through the mission reports etc and always come across one that amuses me ..

"Phil got at least 4 of Chris's Gang! he was cool!"

lol now i dont know, but i suspect "Phil" may have filled this one in for his zug :)

i suspect this was when i was shot by the trench line and the rest of my squad were taken out by 2 well thrown grenades (or was that matts zug , but then again it could havebeen a few times lol
