Yeah he looked good - so good that Alex Mowatt resorted to pulling his hair to stop him getting past! Hope so, we'll see what our sleazy Italian has in store for us...

What was the supply situation of Cornish Pasties like in Italy; anyone know?
What was the supply situation of Cornish Pasties like in Italy; anyone know?
Due to the U boat situation they would have been made locally by elite members of the Cornish pasty making corps. These Brave cornishmen were parachuted in well before the invasion started in order to start sourcing suitable ingredients. Unfortunately photo's to back this up do not exist, as for obvious reasons the government are reluctant to acknowledge the existence of this elite unit.
Fantastic!
"Seventy years ago, a crack team of Pastie makers were parachuted behind enemy lines and survive today as bakers of fortune. If you're hungy, or even if you're just downright peckish, maybe you can find them, maybe you can hire... THE PASTIE TEAM!"
Though I'm imagining them looking like this for some reason.
Just hoping our 'plan' to knock out that Flak38 comes together.
The evidence for the existence of the pasty making corps:
Calzone: Where did the Italians get this idea from?
Smocks: Why are the jackets airborne troops wear called smocks? They have no smocking involved in their construction.
Could they have developed from this type of smock?
Also if you look up the Pasty on wikipedia, you will find that pasty making can be found in various parts of the world where there are mineral deposits. The person who wrote the page attributes this to Cornish miners emigrating to find work. Clearly the reason is really that these strategically important mineral reserves need to be protected. After the war a scheme was rolled out whereby pasty production was made ready in strategically sensitive areas such as these so that any future British army needing to be in the area could be supplied.
The product of a disturbed mind....
....brilliant, but disturbed
Ok so its 12:20am and after spending all day, I have finally managed to fit everything onto a bike. I had to fix the bike as the bike I was intending to take can't carry as much. I had to try strapping different backpacks to the bike and then see if I could fit everything. I currently have a backpack attached to the front of the bike, 2 panniers at the back and a sleeping mat strapped to the rear rack. I had to abandon taking spare clothes to travel in, people will just have to think I am a weirdo on the train
If anyone asks just tell them you are very late for something important.
I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.
Homeward bound from Edinburgh at the mo, quick stop off at the supermarket, load the car & I'm all ready for tomorrow's early start - a simmering 8!

Just finished, unfortunately I always manage to forget something!. I wonder what it will be this time? Mind you, it normally happens in the middle of winter, when I'm trying to put my stuff in the car without turning any lights on in the house and waking everyone up at 6.30am. Looking forward to playing british for a change!!
Up to about a nine, all the prep is done, sun is shining and skies are blue, can only hope now that everyone enjoys themselves.
