Hi guys, hope you all enjoyed the weekend! Great weather, great site and a few good groups of guys!

The vehicles were excellent, round of applause to the 16th SS the '222' was brilliant, we definitely need to work out a bazooka of some sort. Anyway I really enjoyed myself and apart from getting shot in the ear and commend everyone for some good airsofting.
Particular part of the day which I enjoyed was the very last part, protecting a stone wall against a German attack.

Yes, an enjoyable weekend. Great to meet up with old hands as well as putting faces to new ones. Despite some niggles, Taffy's stunning site and legendary hospitality won the day - heh, it was worth turning up for this alone, never mind the stunning views! The evening entertainment was a success too and I eventually got over the disappointment to Vera Lyn not showing - of the three substitutes a young lass called Emma showed great promise, of the other two the less said the better. Not really, they were fab too!

Germans had a tough first day by being numerically disadvantaged as well as the many bolt actions rendered ineffective by stiff winds facing the usual Thompson onslaught (luckily on a more even footing once into the shelter of the wood at the end of the day). Regardless, they held positions, stoically falling back as required to cover the site and its many objectives. The plucky Brits contented themselves with sight-seeing and tea drinking (along with some deviousness and much moustache grooming) and the Yanks were relentless and found that relying on scary make up isn't sufficient to win a battle but strategy and coordinated action is.

One shouldn't moan but while the weather was glorious, on a large and hilly site it often became overbearing. Frequent rests and re-grouping helped ease the frustration, dehydrating and complete knackeringness and somehow we managed to hold it together for six hours play, so well done all.

Final thanks to the 16th for the armoured support which made a complete nuisance of itself when required/possible. It will be doubly awesome when the gas cannon is fitted!

And final, final thanks to Dianne for not only the evening nosh (I had seconds ) but also the Welsh cakes - Forester and I were munching them on the return journey as we had been provided with a goody bag

BTW - Spiers has earned the nickname of Pudsey, non attendees will have to wait for the photos to find out why!

A very enjoyable weekend, The site and hospitality well deserve the fine reputation they have.

During the first day we Brits spent the first half on intelligence and recon not sight seeing (though there was some great views and birds to be observed ). Dodging the Germans - well OK they were a long way away but trying to not be seen by them- was great fun, and in the afternoon booby trapping things and pulling the trigger was fun too.

highpoint? Being actually ambushed by Germans when we were sitting down for a cup of tea. There I was getting up to get the spoon and BLAM BLAM in my leg. Lipton turns, shocked to see me hit whilst Mindham scarpers faster then a quick scarpery thing. I turn around to see see this stoney faced falscrimjager pointing a pistol in a devilishly gangster like manor.

Final point of joy? After being a little confused and thinking Chomley had already been captured on day one, in the final game of the second day to engage in Operation Chomely baiting and rest easy that, even if we couldn't capture him, we got to blow him up. :D .

Not before I'd shot off two red berets and I'm afraid I was only blown up a bit, so after an extended recuperation somewhere in Bavarian mountains, I'll be back.
So glad your efforts weren't in vain though - you looked soooo relieved when your mission was accomplished

Blown up a bit? Damn I had another grenade too. We were going to come in a drag you out, but I did think you would have confused and scared as it was not meant to happen.

Anyway, now we know the next game. A commando raid somewhere in the Bavarian mountains.

What a weekend! I've never travelled so far to a site, 6 hours including the refuel stop! but the journey was well worth it.
Taffy, many thanks to you and your team for the excellent hospitality, I'll have to up the ante if you guys come down south to visit us ;)
It was a fantastic site with stunning views, vast rolling countyside with massive rocky outcrops, the like of which I've never seen before.
It was great to meet a lot of the guys that Ive chatted to on the forums and actually put faces to names. Del's Axis catering uniform was a scream and would terrify that Marco Pierre White fella
Thanks very much to the armoured divison for your support, and thanks most of all to Niel and Jeremy for the lift, without you guys I'd never have been able to attend the event.
