Have you got any pictures? Would love to see what it looks like.

Apart from being a 5'11" white European with a beard I don't think it looks too bad...

Kit is:-
German low boots
Russian puttees (which I think are actually British)
Russian trousers
Russian top
Russian belt
German medic pouch (as ammo pouch)
Russian bread bag
German pre-war DRK canteen and carrier (seemingly similar to early Japanese)
Russian gas mask bag
Cheap cotton IJA cap off eBay

German

Russian

British

Japanese

Looking good there. The Russian tunic really goes well with the impression. I like the medic pouch too.

Regards,

Ralph

Yes, that does look very good. Here was my effort:

I wore a KD shirt instead of a Russian M43 tunic, might try the tunic instead. Did you tuck it into the trousers or leave it out?

Cheers

I got myself a SADF T-shirt for this

Seems near enough and I paid about £3

Considering a Seff Effrikan steel pot too, shape looks about right and I can find them cheapish

I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

I believe Warren has a few Helmets which are either south African or dutch/scandanavian helmets which are similar in style. Give him a bell at Shoot and Scoot.

Cheers

French M51 steel helmets are plentiful on ebay and are what the South African M63 is based on.

Also known as an OTAN helmet. Got one myself, though it's painted up in babypoop and green camo...

Ah, I'm guessing that you're into the Rhodesian kit then? Have to say the camo is absolutely brilliant, lizard and brushstroke patterns are amongst my favourites.

I've got a generic Eastern Bloc backed African soldier impression that's sort of a mix up of several real countries kit; lizard camo shirt and trousers, AK Magazine pouch, Czech backpack, Belgian pistol belt and an M40 type helmet.

I'm starting the same with a generic Western backed impression too and intend on using the M51 for that with plain green shirt and trousers, dyed post war 37 pouches and a Belgian M63 backpack.

Very much so, going to display at War & Peace and Capel Military show this year as a Rhodie. Waiting for the inevitable bush wars airsoft games!

That pith helmet looks quite comfortable.
