Looks like it was a great game. The kit looks pretty damned good too. Am peed off I had to miss it (and the pre game social!).

Ah we'll just have to make up twice as much socialising at the Brian game Heide

I like your thinking Helga!

What the hell??!?!? I spotted that too. I didn't realise The Joker was playing for the Falshies.

However, I've uncovered a photo that I think explains it all:

That pics from the wrong event , I thought it was more the Battle of the Bulges

Dear mother,
I wanted to tell yu a little about a recent operation we were sent on in england of all places. Disguised as polish paratroopers we were to sieze a small village and capture the British leader none other that mr Winston Churchill!

I found the morning a little frustrating as in keeping with our polish disguise, i was using a garand on single shot which was frustrating because of the wind and being outgunned by the amis with thommos on full auto. I lost my BFG ( i always have to leave something behind - but more about that later ) I pretended to injured in a training accident but I was delirious so offering me beer with milk and sugar seemed like a good idea. I think the mericans spotted our disguise (It was fun though with everyone doing accents and stuff! Thanks to barrie and anne for lending me a denison.) The afternoon was interesting and much more enjoyable as, dispensing with the need for a disguise, I was able to use the new sturmgewehr that the fuhrer has been promising us. I have called her Magda after you my loving mother.
My experience with the SS was soon put to good use and we were asked to form a defensive perimeter around the village of sudley constable which we did ... after deploying I took up an advanced position and it wasnt long before and american patrol was swarming all over. My tactic paid off and i was able to single handedly eliminate virtually the whole patrol from behind! I was then involved in a running battle with some of them in the reeds as they pushed us back to the village where i led an assault up the flank which was soon eliminated by the americans.

My opportunity for glory came very soon after when, while looking for my lost grenade i spotted one of mr Churchills bodyguards on his own. After challenging him i fired and hit him It was then i realised what a golden opportunity this presented. Hastily making my way to the outskirts of the village I summoned a small group of fallschirmjaegers and we chased the jeep with mr churchill down the road, one of the group smartly disabling the vehicle with a well placed grenade. After that there was a chase on foot with his two british bodyguards putting up quite a fight. From then the outcome was inevitable and we eventually secured him far away from the americans in order that the inglorious recapture of the morning wasnt repeated.

I made my way back to the village where we were being pushed back by the americans who by this time had their blood up and had a good taste for battle...... we were being pinned down by some americans hidden in a bunker dispensing with magda for the moment i drew my pistol and crept up behind them lobbing my grenade at the appropriate moment and then managing to shoot at least six of them before needing to beat a hasty retreat due to being wounded. I was of course frustrated by the lack of followup by my german colleagues were no doubt as surprised by my exploits as i was! We managed to get mr Churchill to the Schnellboot in time and in my opinion the operation was a great success. I am puzzled however by the lack of recognition i felt my efforts deserved, instead they have disbanded our unit and I am being sent to the russian front! I was led to believe that my efforts would lead to me receiving the oak leaves for my iron cross! Perhaps there is some special reason for them wanting me at the front. I have seen nothing in the news reels about our kidnap of mr Churchill and For some reason the war is continuing... I would have thought that with mr churchill captured the British would have surrendered by now.

My M1 was on single too dude and I was racking up the kills ;) Just have to allow for the wind, and aim 20 metres to the side! hehe

hey webby i didn't want to start the whole discussion again! (1 shot vs a hail of bb's mmmm ....) if you had your garand most likely you were shooting at germans who for the most part have chinese mp40s with a very short range and fairly naff fps and locaps or K98's not exactly known for rate of fire which is more or less equal odds. My mp44 only has locaps but good range and fps and i never feel outgunned! nuff said. I was trying to reflect the feelings of a German character. It was well known that throughout the war soldiers on both sides felt outgunned by the others.
And whatever anyone says, firepower and rate of fire does make a difference even in airsoft. This is why the technique of suppressing fire is so effective. anyhow.... it was a great day and i had a fabulous time particularly in the afternoon.

In fact to the level that they often seemed to want to use the enemy's weapons instead of their own!

Well I guess you see the effect of the enemy's weapons first hand...

You miss my point mate, well i wasnt actually making a point but yah know!

Personally, I only ever use single fire when using my Garand, 1 for realism (ish) and 2 getting murdered by a pokey AEG on full auto aint very nice, especially 1 doing near to 340 (like my M1) I have had the mechanism which allows full auto take out of mine anyway. 8)

My TM Thompson has only ever done 270 fps and I use single shot a lot of the time to prevent giving away a position too much.
