Ok 7 Days to go I have now found out that it is the Law that this Bank holiday weekend you MUST find time for yourself, sit down and watch `A Bridge Too Far`.
Who knows there may be some clues in the film that will pan out in the game. If not who cares damn good film.
Hay!!
That's no good to the SS or Heer infantry it's a bloody British film in English so how's that going to help the Germans.
Peter.
Well if it's the law then i suppose I've no choice in this one!
Enjoy the bank holiday everyone!
Bloody MPs.....
I'm a hero with coward's legs.
Oh well if you say so

The Germans get some of the better lines, even if the film characters are outrageously mixed up from those in the book. Quite why Harmel is renamed "Ludwig" is beyond me.
Meanwhile, I'll be having a cup of tea, because it can't do any harm can it?
Cheers

Well thank you & your law
I'v just told my loving wife of this law you have laid down & her reply to me was " you can go forth & multiply" or words of a similar meaning.
So cheers it's now going cost me some flowers/chocolates to get back in her good books.
Peter.

That's always been puzzling to me. I've always been fascinated with Harmel & Bittrich, both (though Harmel especially) had excellent service records & seemed a world away from other devout SS commanders like Dietrich & Pieper. Their good postwar relations with the Western allies seems to confirm this.
Bittrich also gets to say Students line in the film about airborne resources. Bizarre.
One of the things which really cracked me up was in the film Graebner is steely eyed jut jawed Aryan ubermensch, whereas irl he was rather short, dark and rotund.
But nothing beats Robert Redford paddling across the Waal with all those Shermans providing covering fire, despite the slander perpetrated on Lord Carringtons Sherman troop once they were over the bridge.
Hail Mary. Full of Grace.

An alternative to sitting through several hours of ABTF is the 1946 film "Theirs is the Glory". Filmed on location in Oosterbeek and starring men of the 1st Airborne as well as a number of working German tanks (and a broken Tiger II).

Well that will be done, but going to tiger day at the tank museum has helped alot to boost my ss morale.
Watched it last night. Haven't seen the film in years but I'm definitely getting excited for Saturday.
Waho Mohammed!
