At time of posting this, three weeks to go. Anyone getting excited yet? Seeing as this seems to be the quietest game on the board I thought I'd get some chatter going. Anyone bought any new bits of kit / guns? What are you bringing to the event?

Fick ja! I can't wait! I picked up a tanaka mauser k98 the other day for ww2 airsoft (as an early birthday present for myself) and some assorted bits of winter kit! I'm counting down the days

I've made a start on sorting some kit out, but still unpacking from Nordlicht. Have sorted out various tents, and working out which bits I'll need for a slightly more specific truppenfuhrer impression, but more important, need to decide what blinged up outfit to wear in the evening as per Joshs plea. Free wine is always a good incentive. Will probably reprise Leutnant Fricke.

Looking at weather forecasts to determine if it will be winter or tropical gear to bring, at the moment it is looking like shorts and shirt!

Having just finally fixed the cocking handle on my MP40, I'll probably use that, with my G43 or K98 as a backup.

Have planned the route. Glad I've booked the entire day off on Friday from work.

Cheers
Martin

Sorting through kit at like Martin. No idea what to go as; might badge up as Royal Ulster Rifles, though I'd rather like to wear the windproof camo suit.

Sorry, meant to add, I have got a couple of new things for the game; an original gas mask tin to replace my repro one and a bevo eagle/cockade for my private purchase M43 splinter cap. I've also got one of those dummy cardboard stick grenades you put Mark Vs in which I haven't tried yet. Otherwise it is the same pile of junk I bring to everything.

Cheers

Pretty much ready to go now,how organised am I ?
Bought a repro assault vest to try out with my Rangers loadout,I'm thinking it will be either the best thing since sliced bread or it'll end up floating down the Bristol Channel.
The November weather in South Wales will probably be the same as June 44 :D .

Rising to a steady six out of ten, the van passed the MOT today so at least I know I can get there.

Less excitement and more stress here tbh. I thought this would be the easiest game to get to so far but having got the weekend off and paid my deposit, It's looking like more of a challenge. I had been planning on using the train and taking a bike to get to the site but a rail replacement bus on the Sunday has thwarted that idea. It may be possible to cycle from Severn Tunnel Junction to Severn beach on the return journey but my experience at San Marino has made me wary of relying on my bike when loaded down with gear.
I'm sure I will come up with something.

Have sorted all my kit now, planned the route, laid in supplies (but discovered I need more coffee!). I've even sorted out a 'smart uniform' so I can get my free glass of wine :)

Taking a whole day off work on Friday means I should be able to get there at a semi-sensible time, just need to get to Friday now.

6/10.

Cheers

Also up to 7 now the weekend is nearer, +1 for a night op on Saturday too and a slightly better weather forecast, call it 8. Woo hoo.

I have packed an umbrella anyway :)

Full on panic mode here. Started packing stuff and have realised that usually I struggle to get to games carrying enough for 1 night and the day of the game. I'm having to make compromises such as taking wine instead of beer to save space etc. I just know that whilst sorting out what I can carry, I will forget something important.

Sometimes I wish I still had a car

If its any consolation; I keep packing and repacking trying to get it down to a minimum, I know one of the other two in our car will bring the kitchen sink!
