It was really good day out, one of the best games I've been to in ages. I think the small numbers really worked well for the mission types, and there was a high proportion of rifles which stopped the game degenerating into AEG death. The large number of patrol and hold missions also meant we had a lot of encounters with the enemy, some of which went better than others

Personal highlights were the bayonet anti-banzai charge (the Japanese seemed genuinely confused until they figured out what was happening) and an ambush we pulled which wiped out a whole Japanese squad with just two springer bolt actions. I also discovered that putting a firework demolition charge in a handy tin can to keep it from falling over was a really, really bad idea as it converted it into a hand grenade with real shrapnel. I won't be doing that again.

Thanks to Martin and Chris for all the hard work setting it up, the players for looking the bees knees and playing so well, and to British section 1 for putting up with my Sergeant Wilson leadership style. Looking forward to January.

Agreed. Great day. I have to say that I was surprised about the encounters we had. I thought we might see nobody all day and then we felt like we ran into hordes of Brits .
First part of the day I fired 6 rounds with my K98 with no success but grenaded roughly 6-7 Brits with 3 throws in the meantime.

Massive thanks to Chris, Martin and the team. Great game as usual. Will miss them , if WWII games should disappear of the list.

Like everybody who was there ,enjoyed it immensely. Had plenty of scraps, and shot more of the enemy than Ive done in all games together. Best bit was myself and Sherri having our own banzai charge all to ourselves, which initialy scared the crap out off us until we realized what was happening and we despatched both culprits and took home both souvenirs for squad 2. Well done all ,Thanks Chris and Martin.

I had a great day. I must admit that I was all set up for a quiet day of not seeing many enemy. I got that wrong. Note to self. Read labels on pyros.
Thanks to everyone that attended, it is great to play games with no marshals and no issues. Testament to the standard of the players! When a scrap ends with defeated and winning squads both beaming, you know that the game is a good one.

What can I say, but a big THANK YOU to all those that turned up and helped be part of a great day some great little scraps and I think all the squads on both sides had their moments of either been wiped out or wiping out the enemy, with Fireball been as bushy as it was and small numbers it really enhanced the sneakiness, our first missions was going so well as we snuck down the fence line undercover to then find out we had a squad of brits on both sides of us as we hunkered down trying not to be discovered and hoping the enemy passed, but it was not to be, when some eagle-eyed Brit spotted us and a few seconds later we were all dead lol but after that it did improve we us getting our revenge a few times after

Great to see so many rifles and those without with such short bursts all throughout the day, even though we seemed to have many scraps we did not shoot that many bbs, we small quick engagements rather than prolonged fights

Downers ... people don't know how to use pyro charges , I don't know to check my camera card is not full and after stalking a brit squad for a little banzai charge and been only a few feet away to find they were all dead but apart from that I had a great day and still ache now.

But the good news is that my WW2 games may still have some life left and not as dead as I may have made them out to be, I am liking the idea of a very small game again, so maybe Burma is not quite finished with yet also we need some photos after we took so few at this one
