Don't want to sound ungrateful or anything but this is the first game I've been to that won't have this facility available! With 3 travelling, it means driving all but the last few miles, unloading, then reloading the car to travel 5 minutes down the road to unload and set up!
I'm afraid that unless anything changes dramatically we're not going to be able to arrange this.
Wouldn't you be leaving the stuff in your car if you were camping anyway? Surely it's more secure in a locked car than in a tent.
As far as costs go. If you're 'unofficial' about it you can fit three people into a Travelodge room if you sleep on the floor. £19 split between the three of you must be manageable.
Again, I didn't want to cause an issue! It's fine for alternatives to be sorted! I only posted to see if it would be possible for ease! I take your point re security but because there's 3 of us I have to use a roof box for all the kit which is a canvas job and so not as secure as could be! However, don't think any more of it! We'll sort it!

Put the kit in the car, Gary can travel in the roof box.
like ya thinking!

Just for info Close Action have only had this site for 6 months or so , and Saturday will be the first night the owners have allowed anyone to camp over ( Stephen was persuasive ) . As with all "firsts" it means we will need to be on good behaviour so that we don't upset the land owner and naff it up for Close Action, who are hoping to have regular 24 hour events there next year based on how this weekend goes. Hence why we can't get camping on Friday night .
"Technically" many of the other sites we have offered this at don't officially allow Friday camping , it's been more a case of us being trusted / blind eye turned to it due to our good relationships with airsoft sites operators .
It's a little inconvenient I'll agree but that's the reasoning behind it . Give em hell in the travelodge, at least you'll get a heart breakfast
ok next question 1 of the players coming down in our group wanted to make sure he could use this
http://www.airsoftworld.net/airsoft-gun ... plete.html
as its a conversion from a 10/22 but looks fairly close and guessing closer than a m14
cheers
chris
That's more than close enough. As long as he sticks to the fps rules, he'll be fine.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
cheers
ok next question and hopefully the last 1
Filming as i tend to like to film a lot of the airsoft i do now for our team utube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/XL5AIRSOFT?feature=mhee (quick plug thou nearly all modern)
but as my helmet camera is a tad modern - at anarchy i used scrim on it to cover it thou to be fair was so dark could have painted it neon yellow and no 1 would have hardly noticed it lol , but i know at cia you like it a little more real so i was wondering if the below photo would be ok - its work in progress and i know it involves a first aid pouch stuck on the helmet but at least its not on the front lol - Must stress this is only a rough image the helmet is no where near finished and would be a tighter fit around the camera so would only see the lense and would be a lot more tidy.
But if its going to get shot straight down i wont bother for this game - just would be nice to get some footage
many thanks

You can, if you must. I've found most airsoft videos to be a bit odd though*, footage of bushed and then a bit of rustily walking along then a bit of firing ad nauseum.
I'd encourage you to concentrate of getting more into the spirit of the event and not having to worry about what you're filming. You'll take away much better memories if you immerse yourself in the scenario than you will from a few shaky bits of footage.
Bedsnherts excellent films notwithstanding, of course.
ta, wont effect me as it would just be on and thats it , it films what ever it films i only time i would touch it may be halfway just to change card etc , i have to agree with you to a degree with airsoft films thou i tend not to like ones that much if i was not there but they do help me to remember good times and also share those good times which spreads the word of airsoft , ww2 etc etc. Prime example is this game has 2 new players with our group that has never done ww2 airsoft but from out footage from ww2 games etc they are keen to get into it and like the idea of immersion , limited ammo, structure and non blat fests which are key elements to the ww2 scene. Would have been 3 folks but spots sold out lol Have no fear i will be fully immersed camera or no camera the ww2 games i have done are some of the best games i have played and i still bore folks with storys of Alsos and others
cheers

Coolio, though if I see you getting people to pose for photos I'll shoot you all myself.
It might not effect you, but it might the rest of us to see a great big lens stuck to the side of your helmet.

I wont lose any sleepless nights mate so crack on and film away.
1 ) well thats why i asked
2) why i trying to cover it up with only a frontal view of less than a 2" showing
but if it will realy upset you i am sure i can live without
Sorry, I really don't like it. It's just a little too big.
Thanks for being considerate and asking...
well would not want you geting upset so will not wear
will secretly stash in my trousers and claim i just happy to see you all
I think the odd bit of filming is fine... but it'll ruin your look to have it on your helmet all the time.
If it were smaller...
bah normaly i get told if it only it was bigger
well the lense is 3 cm across that would be only visable from the front as first aid pouch would cover it all up , not sure i can get much smaller lol but it no problem i quite happy to leave at home
