"Enemy at the gates" Russian Front Training Day. Date and venue to be announced once we have a suitable urban site secured on this one. As we can't fit any sniping into the August 19th TD. What we want to do is have as many who wish to come along to Sgt Heide's scout/sniper taining cadre. Put a German patrol together plus snipers to flush out "Russians", We'll train in the morning and skirmish in the afternoon and may even stretch it to two days. We have a couple of spare Russian uniforms and will be acquiring a few more for the Russian side, web kit is very similar to the German kit, with bread bag, entrenching tool and K98 pouches being very much the same as the German's. The idea is to kit out as many as we can especially for the trianing day, I'll post some photos later for Russian kit ideas. If you want to come along as a Bolshivik and get your own gear, we'll be putting up a kit guide for it shortly. So, in the mean time, if you'd like to come along to this event please express your interest, as we can promiss a high quality experience on this one

Up for this. Would love to be able to use my Garand.

Might have to either borrow Kraut kit or have a Yank on secondment though! ;)

Even if it didn't I wouldn't bother... the jangling of all the medals will give his position away ;)

Just to clarify a few things, this is still a few months away yet, and will be small scale and as authentic as possible, total immersion, no US or Brits, and to that end, for a small wear and tear fee, there will be a limited number of spare Soviet uniforms and equipment available for hire, the only compromise will be the weapons, captured MP40's were used by the Russians anyway, and K98's and Gerrands can be scrimmed up for the snipers, and we will allow Thompsons. Myself and Frontschwein will be going as Russians for this one to make up the numbers for the Soviets, just wait till I post the pictures of Frontschwein's Koolakov impression!

Sounds great!

Once my Brit Commando kit is all sorted, (hopefully in the next few weeks, i'm starting on a Russian loadout, as i'm halfway through building an mp001 to Mosin Sniper conversion.

If the conversion goes easily enough, there might be a possibility of knocking out a few more.
