The falling plate would be brilliant, definitely bring it! I'll be trying to find a download for other targets for grouping and zeroing.
There is a nice, open field we can use as a range before the paintballers get on it. When they come to use it, we can move into the woods. We should be zeroed by then anyway and we will hardly see the buggers all day. They bugger off at about 1530 - 1600 hrs anyway, so we'll have the place all to ourselves after that.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
i should say the falling plate is just the plate target, not the falling mechanizim
i use it to zero, and find it a resonable size at 40 - 50m
the sound of hits helps too

Great to hear that you'll be attending Sturmbahnfurher, you'll be able to inspect the troops before we start and lead in the deliberate ambushes. We'll be tailor making the trainging over the next few days especially for the CR event, starting with a parade, then moving on to some basic stuff in 40 and 20min periods, like German web kit and equipment, living in the field, (ie,how to basher up with zeltbahns, how to use esbit/hexy cookers) cam and concealment, patrol skills, squad movement and hand signals, large deliberate ambushes with cut off groups and rear protection, and snap ambushes, which we'll practice and spring on each other, scout sniper work, some range work and a photo shoot. If anyone has any props they'd like to bring along, then by all means bring them for the photo shoot please. Also if anyone else wishes to attend just let me know via PM, there's a lot to pack in, but it should be a good one! Starting to really look forward to this now.
Blooming heck, I was only coming to zero-in the K98!
Be kind to us though, we are only (mainly) mamby-pamby airsofters with an attention span of 30 seconds!
Nah, kidding - looks like you are putting a lot of effort into this, much appreciated.
I'll bring along a camera or two, 'tis my 'real' job after all!
Ok directions to the site as promised. I'll assume 99% of you will be using the M6 to get there. Any variations, just ask and I'll do my best to give you tailored directions.
From the M6, get off at Junction11.
Take the exit signposted "Willenhall" it also says "Hollybush garden centre".
Continue straight on down this road for about 2 miles. You are looking for a turning on the right for "Hobnock Road".
Follow Hobnock Road to the end and you will come to a mini roundabout. Turn right at this. You will pass Willenhall Rugby Club on your left.
Continue down this road about 100 metres until you come to the gates of Essington Fruit Farm on your right. About 20 metres down from the fruit farm gates, is another gate. You should turn right and go through this. Follow the track all the way down (please close all gates behind you!). You will pass over a bridge (over the M54) and follow the track round and straight down all the way to the end. That's it! You should now be on the car park!
I will reiterate, that there is a group of paintballers booked in on the same day but we will work around them. They also leave the site around 1600 at the latest, leaving the place all to ourselves after that. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

For those with satnav or just want to print off web maps these should all take you to the road entrance:
Bognop Road, Essington, WV11 2AZ

Do it on Google maps and you will see a maize maze on the farm!

Lol, yeah, I'd forgotten the maize maze!
There may be a lot of civvies about at the fruit farm, so drive slowly and wear a civvy coat over your sigrunen! The farmer hates the track being access to the site and always whinges if gates are left open or people drive like Colin McCrae.
I'll be there from about 0800hrs and will try to get us a part of the safe area segregated from the untermenschen (paintballers!).

Just wondering if this thread was working properly yet, I'll post all the necessary details again shortly, list of those attending, timings, location, itinary, things you need to bring. Still looking like we've got two full infantry sections, looking froward to it should be a good day
stubblehopper,
the whole forum has reverted back to the last available backup, I believe.
So we'll have to kickoff from here.
All training day attendees please bring A4-ish sized cardboard for attaching targets, and if possible wooden stakes(not for vampires lol)if you can
There are a few of us bringing paper targets for all.
Sgt.Heide posted(b4the forum crash) that he will be onsite from 08:00 on the day and stubblehopper said 09:00 for the start time.

I'll bring a stapler gun.
Got some sandbags sorted today for the ranges, we'll need them for prone fire supported positions, If you've got the wooden stakes and paper targets covered Tony, that's top news, also I can get hold of 3 zeltbahns, JD7(Del) has one and so does the Sturmbahnfurhrer, that gives us five in total, that'll do nicey for laying the weapons and ammo on, I'll be bringing a K98, a top mp40 with PCG gearbox, an AGM mp40, a p08 and a ak74 to mess on with. The range will look the business, I'll also bring a pair of binos for spotting as well. Should be able to get some nice photos of the range work, seen a classic original ww2 photo of an officer spotting for his riflemen with binos, I think the sturmbahnfurher is being roped into that one, we'll try and recreate it.
Hi all
I will be bringing my AGM mp40 and a Maruzen p38 - the only two weapons I have, at the moment - and quite a few A4 paper targets. Will try for some cardboard, too.
I took a drive over to Essington today, to make sure I could find it - no problems. Who else is up for meeting at Hilton services for breakfast?
