Hi Del

When you say early morning, how early? I vaguely recall A Gregory saying something about 6am in one of the posts that got last in the crash. Is that right? I don't mind that if that's what people want - but it does seem a tad early to me - :D

Sgt.Heide is planning on being at the site for 08:00. Official 'kickoff' is 09:00.

I am planning on leaving the services after breakfast at around 08:30. I'll prolly get there for 07:30 and have a 'full-tommy' lol

There's four of us coming from the North East we'll be up for a breakfast meet up before we start, might be a bit shaky on the times though we've got a long way to come and can't guarantee we'll be on time, if there's any traffic problems on the way down it might make us a bit late, but we'll do our best.

Seeing as I live about 10 minites drive from the site, I'll be having brekky at home with my Brother I think. At least we'll all be fed and ready on site! Really looking forward to it.

By the way, we may need to tread carefully with pyro's, due to horsey type people riding their steaks on the hoof not too far from us. I have previously had some "fun" experiences with these people, which I won't bore you with here! So, in short, I wouldn't recommend bringing shed loads of pyro's with you.

No worries there. Don't have any pyros - yet - Never even used any. In fact, never fired a shot 'in anger' even - but that will all change come Saturday when I visit Fireball. Should be a fun weekend - won't see the wife much, but hey - can't win 'em all - :D

Forgive me if this sounds a little naive but I don't know any of you guys as yet - how will we recognise one another? I can always PM one or two of you and share mobile numbers -

.....or are you thinking of walking into HP services with recognisable kit on?

:D

OK here's the list of guys who have confirmed that they will be attending-:

1) Paul Daverson (frontschwein)
2) Chris Leonard (Stubblehopper)
3) Micheal Brown
4) Shaun Doherty
5) Pete Dunn (Heide)
6) Stuart Dunn
7) Chomley Warner
8) Orky
9) Del (JD7)
10) Richardschulze1944
11) Gregg
12) Lewis
13) Balderick
14) Phil
15) A Gregory
16) P Gregory

There still may be a couple of others, as yet who have not confirmed.

Here's a brief outline of what we intend doing, the timings are pretty loose on this ATM. We'll be splitting split into
two groups. Parade and inspection, followed by a look at German uniforms and field equipment, living in the field, ie a look at how to construct zeltbahns, hexy stoves, ect. Cam and consealment, squad movement and hand signals, ranges, lunch, patrolling and ambush/anti ambush drills. sniper/scout skills. In the afternoon we have the place to ourselves and will have all the time in the world to carry out large scale platoon sized ambush practice followed by section ambushes, which we'll sring on each other. Once all this has been done we'll have a little fun and do some skirmishing again by splitting into two and taking each other on as seperate sections. Once again if anyone else wishes to come and join in please feel free to do so, either PM me or Heide or post here. we'll post some further details before the end of the week.

Great numbers to look forward to. I'm in the midst of putting some lesson plans together (trying to keep them relevant and interesting!).

I will be calling the owners tomorrow to confirm numbers with them. As Stubblehopper says, we can be flexible on the day in order to work around the paintballers. Once we have the place to ourselves, we can do pretty much anything within reason!

I just hope the stuff I've ordered turns up before the weekend. My Brother thinks his parcel from Spearhead is being held by customs, so if anyone could help him out with kit if necessary, it would be greatly appreciated. He would need trousers and an oakleaf smock if anyone is able to help if the worst comes to worst.

When the paintballers are there, pyro's will almost definitely be a no-no (I'll tell the full story on the day!). After they have gone, on certain areas of the site, they should be ok. I'll talk about it on the day is the easiest way to put it.

I shall bid you a good day, unfortunately looks like the one child we need squashing will not be able to be farmed out  and as such we won't be attending (note we really would have liked to have joined in)

I just wanted to request at this point that it would for those of us unable to go, be highly useful/informative for CR, that any/all information/things dealt with on the training day, be relayed to the rest of us (in the private section of course ;) ) so we are not in a position to be hinderance by not knowing ie putting us and everyone at a disadvantage. Theres no I in team and as presumabley it will be required despite the need for squads that we all will work together in the greater, master scheme of the event. And as such that from the onset any relevant info (suggested tactics etc) are passed on so we can knit as one unit (not of the jumper kind ;) )

I believe we are (well myself, Che, Fandanglos, Goblin, their mate who is currently failing miserably at joiing the forum and anyone else that wishes to join us,will be having a day prior to CR to work on things. Thus information from what is deemed practical from this training session would aid us in doing our best on the day.

Hopefully not patronising, tried to be uncondesending with this post :? (hopefully its not, if it is then I appologise  ) I presume it has already been discussed that the above will occur and info will be fed to us all, I just wanted to make sure being rather finicky for detail

Have spoken to the owners and confirmed numbers with them. I have also got a part of the safe area "reserved" for us, in order to keep nosey paintballers to a minimum.

Just to recap, there is a

Same here, lesson plans done, already done them a hundred times before, anyway, so no probs there. Have to say, I have cut out a fair bit though, that you would have to do with real squaddies. Nice quik and simple bags of hands on.
