Aye, none of this is prescriptive and I'm not a reenactor for the very reasons you give, although I'm not ex army. I went to scouts though, does that count?
of course, you wore a uniform and ran around in the local woods, ( just add a gun, a health interest in porn and beer and you got infantrymen lol lol lol lol .)
Ah, that's better, service has been resumed, banter is back!

My comments weren't aimed at any one forum user in particular - one man's hessian is another man's blanco. It doesn't bother me what users talk about but it's how they talk about it that matters (and as forum admin I read it all ). But when there are forum users grumbling then I am compelled to act!
I could waste half of a very pleasant Saturday afternoon drawing up some forum rules but we have managed very well so far without any.
Wait, I've just wasted 30 seconds and come up with the official CiA forum rules for posters:
Be nice, don't be an arse.
Now then, what was this topic about?
that comment was for scaley not you chommers. it isnt all about you you know
Be nice, don't be an arse.
Now that is a great guide to life in general.

THANKS C-W for stepping in, a voice of reason this thread was beginning to look like a digging match.
lets remember what got everyone involved in the game and the upside of dressing up in uniforms from WW2 and running around in the woods.
liam
lol trust you!!!
Just a quick question really. Just got my jump suit through the post and i need to sew on the 101st airborne patches. Where should i place the patch on the shoulder and what colour thread should i use?
It's not that strict.
It's in the centre of the shoulder on the left arm sleeve maybe 1-2cm from the shoulder seam.
For reference this is for blouse, not combat uniform:
Alternatively see here for some original placements of patches on original uniforms:

Thanks for asking about this Biguk as it saves me having to now, i assume your 101st patch has the eagle with the white tongue as you got your m42 from the same seller as me?

Yeah i did indeed.
Thanks headshot, thats very useful.
Someone's offering a "101st Airborne oil-cloth flag brassard used on D-Day" on the Dutch STIWOT-forum
At 200 Euros I pity the ignoramus who buys that one.
