Hello all

been searching around on google etc for info on this with not much luck. Did the americans wear anything in combat on their bonces other than the helmets? Kitting myself up in american gear and can afford the helmet but my friend cant so was wondering what else there was.

Thanks

Rhys

You could try for a post war one - many nations used them.

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier

A jeep cap is good, you can get a modern knitted one for about a fiver, and as yith said on another thread, A post war dutch lid for less than a two quid.

Garrison Caps were for walking out, not combat. ;)

Jeep caps were designed to be worn under the M1 Helmet, but were popular when worn on its own...Patton hated that with a vengeance, I hear.

Still look cool though, Ill be wearing mine at downtime at CR :)

Jeep caps can only be worn unde the M1 if you don't have the liner webbing in it, if I remember correctly

Tankerhelmets and winter combat helmets were worn too, but neither offered any ballistic protection and the winter combat cloth helmet is too hot to wear in the summertime.

A HBT cap is a nice alternative.
