Good stuff, might pop over for that too! I'll come in my 82nd kit so you know how a veteran airborne player matches up to historically accurate....! hehe

Point is, wear it how you wish, and how is comfortable... one of my biggest faults is wearing everything because ive spent money on it, then ending up in a ditch sweating my whatsits off not being able to see through my fogged up glasses! hehe

will be wearing some braces to try and keep the pants high up but they are strangly high compared the ususal fitting lol.

Braces arent important mate, 1/5 of your trousers are covered by your jacket and belt order, so it doesnt really matter how far up they are. If they need keeping up, wear a trouser belt, works every time for me :good:

heard rumors that they can split around the crotch is that just like luck of the draw or how much wear and tear you give them?

don't have a belt that fits through the small loops except a plastic electric pink thing, but i doubt that would be historically accurate in any way shape or form

The tales I've heard about this were of cheaper, Chinese suits, or when the leg ties were done up too tight. First thing I did with my ATF jumpsuit was get it on the sewing machine and add triple stitching to the arse area. You can't be too careful, can you Webby?

I think braces always work better than belts if you're running around. Having to hoik your trousers up every 5 minutes gets annoying. I used to use a cheap pair of modern elastic braces with the crocodile clips for my German and Brit loadouts. If they're underneath your tunic then who cares?

Yes it does.

Braces are also to aid with the load bearing.

got some black elastic ones that are modern with the crocodile clips (a Christmas present from my mental gran) to wear underneath.

with regards to helmet netting does anyone else find that when its over your helmet the elastic tends to get quite annoying on your forehead after a while? was just putting it all on again today and wondered weather it was me wearing it wrong

Elastic?! I think you MUST have the wrong type. A regular helmet net is drawstring and tucks between the shell and liner so won't be near your head.

Have a look here for reference:

Hello,

with the helmet and net have i been buggered sideways by a large ladyboy from Thailand, the rest of my gear is from the same shop so could just be me ordering wrong thing

Unfortunetly the net looks more suited to be used my the Imperial Japanese Army than the 101st.

For the correct type for an M1 helmet the easiest source is SOF:

http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/reenactors/select.asp

Code: AG074. Standard sized helmet net to fit onto M1 steel helmets. Green. £6.00

Cheers
Danny

Yeah, the helmet net is wrong.

TBH, they weren't used all the time anyway. Perhaps leave it off for now until you can get a proper one.

You might benefit from spreading apart the 2 points where your suspenders attach to your belt at the back, will spread the load a little better :good:

Nothing wrong with the net-its correct for the helmet-a Norwegian post war one

Seriously though for a couple of quid a better net would make the world of difference :good: :good:

Also being a post war Norgi M1 just noticed that you also need to change the webbing liner chinstrap to a leather one.

J.Murray's got some great leather straps, and the webbing chin straps and helmet nets are good too plus cheap for the quality.
