The wool and wool/leather gloves were also used by paratroopers but you wouldn't think so to look at their modern day copyists.
Unlike re-enactors, real airborne didnt wear their jump gloves 24/7. You can find post jump images of them in use but not that many.
They are actually a cavalry pattern glove adopted by the airborne.
