Would you link to the ones you mean, i cant see any on there which fit your description. The cut down springfield ones look alot different and there is always some on EBAY. I was doing some research around Garand Bayonets and there is quite a few to choose from. I dont have any resocurces on me atm but from what i remember

The Springfield Bayonet was the first adapted to the Garand
Then followed the first offical Garand Bayonet (cant remeber the correct military designation)
Then there was a second Garand Bayonet version which i believe to be the most produced of the war.

So it comes down to preference do you want a cut down springfield? As the first bayonet or do you want the first real Garand Bayonet or do you want to own the most common one?

I havent made my mind up yet for which one to go for. :slap:

Probably which everyone is cheapest

looks like a standard 10inch Garand Bayonet to me, i'm sure its not a springfield one. The handle on the springfield from what i rememther is flat on the end were the one you has linked is curved. You don't get much info on it tho from the site. Maybe send them an Email for additional details. Dan has always been very helpful to me in the past and generally has answered my emails in a couple of days.

i'm sure its not a springfield one.

It is a cut down 1905 16", the canellure runs all the way to the point.

Not just a Guru on German stuff then poacher! :giggle: Have to remember that one! Have found a short guide which i can remember reading quite a while ago. http://reviews.ebay.com/Bayonets-for-the-US-M1-Garand-rifle_W0QQugidZ10000000000118276 not to treated as 100% accurate but as a "guide"
