Hey guys,
Right i believe ive made a big mistake winning the bid on an original and dated musette bag from ebay. I've just noticed that after ive won the auction the top straps are missing or been removed. Does this mean it cant be attached to webbing and worn on your back? and is there for useless?
Unfortunately I think that the answer is yes
however it might be worth seeing if you can get replacement straps for it, here's someone I've bought a lot of stuff from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/HT-C-Reproduct ... esstQQtZkm they may be worth contacting to see if they can help, or alternatively get a repro musette and take the straps off that.

Yeah thats what i was thinking of doing as an alternative.. Its a shame, its my fault that i didnt read the auction properly when i made my bid.
Anyone know of a supplier where i can get the straps from ?
I've contacted a few.
At TheFront sell all kinds of webbing material and snaps you can use to make some. Though I think it's easier taking them off a repro bag.

Unfortunatly thats just the over shoulder GP strap i believe but thanks. Gonna get myself a cheaper style musette bag and remove the straps and use the rest as spares just in case.
EDIT:
Just found this at WPG. There's no pic unfortunatly but the description sounds promising. What do you guys think.

Well ive sent them an email, see what they come back with. I think im just gonna do what i suggested before. ITs in pretty good nick apart from missing the straps
hope you get it sorted, just at a side note, the 2nd picture in your 1st post, looks like that soldier is getting an earful off that local lady!

lol thats true, she does look annoyed about something...hadnt noticed before
He's wearing 42's so it's most likely France. I'd say she's probably pissed off at 4 years of German suppression! ![]()

Is it a british made musette bag?
