Thanks

What are you trying to put on it Alex?

You should only really need to put a bayonet on, water bottle, spade (if needed) and carlisle pouch.

Bayonet usually goes on front left of belt, handing from 1 of the hooks, this makes it at a better angle to drawer out. Waterbottle whichever side is easiest, carlisle tin on front right eyeles, e-tool where it will fit.

Depends on what rank you are really, if you're Joe Regular PFC you wouldn't have a pistol. hehe

On an airsoft note, how many eyelets do you have on each side, I have 5 on each side for me, which is pointless if wanting to carry 3 things!

Without overloading your belt, I'd recommend this... obviously you might want to wear the knife on your leg, although I'm not sure how common this was outside of the 101st in Normandy.

The other option for riflemen is the pistol belt and rigger pouches, you get lots of slots for belt kit that way.

True, the cartridge belt is compatible with Regular Infantry and Marine Impressions too though :good:

But for those two load outs you would lose the pistol holster, the bayonet would be on the M1910/28 for infantry, lose the M8 for infantry, possibly swap for Kbar for Marines.
I must admit I've never noticed the bayonet hung by one eyelet before. It's a good idea, whats the history to that?

Like I said, the cartridge belt is compatible, not the rig... As you wouldnt use the suspenders or bayonet on your belt, as you'd have a haversack or marine webbing/pack. You wouldn't have a pistol on a hip holster as regular ranks, but for the purpose of Airsoft where most people carry a sidearm for MEDs, it can't be avoided. Not sure where I saw the bayonet hung like that, was from a long while ago though. It's easy to draw out when it's on an angle though. I saw it whislt doing research on the 82nd on the lead up to the churchills revenge game.

That WAS a long time ago! I'll go with the rifle belt, I'll manage to get everything on, knife is going on my boot for the first time in 3 years and then it shouldn't be a huge problem fitting the other gear on.

A wise choice, you will seldom need a knife and a bayonet in an airsoft game.

On the contruary, I have had plenty of knife kills at an airsoft game, and a lot of us are waiting on Rubber knives and Bayonets ;)

It's part of the kit for a paratrooper...

It's part of the kit IF someone wants to buy it! If someone pulled a real blade on me, or anyone else for a "knife kill", I'd shove it back up their arse for them! Please stop obessing about minor things like knives and bayonets chaps, they really don't have a place on an airsoft loadout, unless they serve a practical purpose. Going off the game plan, or disobeying your orders, just to get bragging rights for a single knife kill is, frankly, very gay indeed.

I remind players and prospective players that you do not have to buy loads of kit!

Granted, but the thread was only helping Alex set up what he already has, to how a paratrooper would have worn it. I'm not saying all people should carry knives for silent killing purposes, or to go out and get them if they dont! :giggle:

They are a part of paratrooper kit but needing both on the belt isnt. You should never need both?? Not at the same time??? A knife in one hand and a rifle with fixed bayonet in the other??? Dont forget your M2 knife? That's issue kit too, hold that in your teeth?
What I am trying to say is that for the purpose of an airsoft game one bladed weapon[rubber] is all you should need access to. If you need to carry another fine but to free up space on the belt it can go elsewhere.
You could lose the .45 into a pocket or a pouch too, they were not issue to paratroopers. I understand why you might want one for the game but if you are going to argue what is issue and what isn't that could go in a pocket.
You need your e-tool too, they are issue. Rubber ones are available.

I think the main point is, you dont need any of these things at all!

Spiers was asking how he should set up his belt for using a colt.45 in a hip holster, but still inkeeping with an airborne rifleman rig, not wanting to know what was issued.

From my pic you can see that my fighting knife isnt attached to my belt, and as Spier's main airborne impression is Normandy 101st, then wearing on the leg is also suitable (if at all)

You could say I am Walt for carrying all of the things I do, that aren't neccesserily required, but I do purely because I can. I would never draw a real bladed weapon on someone, regardless of whether it was a game or not, but having the knife on my belt finishes the look off for me. I have to take them out during open days, which is why I am getting rubber replacements.

If there's little or no room left on your cartridge belt for a holster, couldn't you just wear a pistol belt under it as well? I'm sure I've seen that done as well.

I'd say that, in gaming terms, a pistol is a much more useful item than a shiney knife, because of med's, flat batteries, etc. Noone is going to get tangled in suspension lines, so a knife is pretty superfluous for our needs, if people want to keep their kit simple, practical and cost effective.

Knife going on leg, as Webby stated well and truly suitable for my 101st loadout.
Pistols were not issued as as a standard piece of kit but were begged, borrowed and stolen as a sought after item. They were also available for enlisted men to BUY pre-Normandy invasion. Short of making a holster or pouch to fit in my gear my only other option is tucking it in to my pants or belt (which I've tried but don't like the look of), I'm sure I'll find a suitable position for it on the belt.
I do have an E-Tool, I have used it at an airsofting game and it's part of the uniform; because I have it whether it's an item which is needed for airsofting or not, it's definitely going on the belt.

Although having a pistol belt under the M1936 Riflemans belt isn't a bad idea!
