Forget the bandoleer, try and get a tan belt rather than the green one.
Wools would be better than hbt for a general US load out.
Generic is often better as it gives you more options with games.
Epic sell pretty much the same stuff as all the other dealers.

aka Stigroadie

AFRA
better by design

I have a 506th para loadout for sale?
34 waist
44 chest
506th helmet
co2 m1911 with shoulder holster has a faulty mag but can get one off the net easy
home made corocorans boot 10
£200 for the lott
thats if its your size..
Joe.

By the list he's looking at Ground Infantry, not airborne there chap.

Rather than HBT trousers I would get the M1936 Mustard Wool trousers, used/worn/on show more than HBTs.

North Africa too don't forget, 8th November 1942, Sicily was 10 months later where the 1st airborne units were dropped en mass.

riiiiight? Even though they were in fighting 10 months after the 39th IR and 1st ID (amongst others) landed during Operation Torch? I'd say they were 1st to fight?

Anyhow back to the topic,

I started my US Inf loadout with mustards and they are very comfy and well wearing (although I have reenforced the gusset to make sure of no blowouts

I've seen more than enough reinforced and patently non-reinforced gussetage belonging to Webby and I don't fancy seeing anyone else's for fear of flashbacks.

Looking good.

I would change one thing: as you already have a garand, I would get a cartridge belt to match, it is what an infantryman would have been issued with to carry the ammo for his garand.

Cheers

I used to wear a tankers jacket, lovely for keeping you warm, but they're very heavy when wet! :)

Amazed to this day about the corriography in SPR. Why on earth is his 1st reaction to grab his helmet when his carbine jams, you'd jump the 2 feet to the german and wrap the stock around his face... lets face it, if he's helmet-less a solid wooden stock swung like a baseball bat would turn your face inside out!

wett? lol only if your storming utah beach!

Rain? ;)

They would've mostly been hand painted anyways so it's pretty good!
I learned a pretty handy trick if you want it more accurate -
1. Print out the design you're after on standard printer paper.
2. Cut out the sections you want to stencil.
3. Spray the back with hairspray. A few coats and let it dry. Pop it under a towel to stop it curling.
4. pop a little more spray on the back and attach it to the helmet where you want it.
5. spray on the paint in light coats or stipple with a short brush.

The lacquer in the hairspray stops the paint penetrating the paper and gives you a decent stencil edge. It's only really good for one use though.
It may creep under the edges though so it's really trial and error, it can be a pain to get any stencil onto a cork textured, curved surface. It'll add to the rough combat look though. Some of those perfectly stencilled helmets just look wrong.
A lot cheaper than a bought stencil, but only one use though.

I've seen crates and vehicles markings being stenciled with a roller, and wondered if people used a roller on helmets. If you had a 1000 to do with the regimental insignia stippling could take a while if spray equipment wasn't available.

Roller makes sense. If I had a lot to do I'd glue the stencil to a sponge!
