Don't know if anyone else may be interested in this idea, but we'll be organising a photoshoot up in the North East, probably in the first two weeks in January 2008. The idea is to try and get some really decent photos of as many forms of combat dress for the waffen ss as possible, with decent warlike backgrounds and use the material to make an online type of "men at arms" uniform page/guide with detailed text, history and colour photos, which will build up to include weapons, badges of rank, tactical and formal ect.
Overnight accomodation will be available and we'll have a few beers the night before. I've got two prime locations for this with dramatic backdrops, and Dog Green is going to help out a bit with the uniforms. I've PM'ed most of the lads from the NE, but thought I'd throw it open to everyone else. Those coming so far include(dates depending)

Nelz
Fandangols
Che(PM'd your bro)
Frontschwein
Stubblehopper
Micheal Brown
Tony Wardle
PM me or post here, if you might be interested
OK here's the list of those who have expressed an interest in coming along on this one, please read this through carefully, before you decide for definate, as it might not be your cup of tea.

The whole idea of this is to take time out and do a quality photoshoot without airsoft getting in the way. What we hope to achieve here is to get some decent photos of Waffen SS winter combat dress, in a remote valley location on the Durham/Northumberland border using a set of derelict farm buildings as a dramatic backdrop. We'll be taking some smoke bombs for effects, and taking shots of winter combat dress of the Waffen SS, parkas, greatcoats, parkas over greatcoats, peadot with headovers and gloves, ect, ect. We hope to be able to get a full 10 man section put together with two MG42's, belts of ammo, greanades, ect; the works. With this I'd like to take some shots of a full section doing period tactics and use it for a tactics guide. The rest of the shoot I'd like to do a take on reproducing some period greats, see example of the MG team. Have a look at the attached map, as we'll have to hike along the valley for 5.5 klicks to get to the farm house and outbuildings and then hike back. We'll be heading west along the valley track from Blanchland to Riddlehamhope(see map)Like I said in an earlier post there will be overnight accomodation if you want it, let me know asap if you want to do this as numbers will effect what we can and can not achieve. We'll cam up using burnt cork and Helga will be heavilily desguised with baggy thick clothing and burnt cork. Hope everyone's still up for this, cos it won't happen if people start droping out.
In an effort to make the carrying of "props" to the photoshoot location easier,..... can the Combo assist,..... we can pile a lot of kit upon it.
Problem !!.... does the journey from the car parking area, to the shoot,... include any "no go" areas for a Combo ?
Like for example,..... stiles, foot bridges, narrow paths,..... hoards of Russian soldiers or Partisans.
In other words !... will I get me Bike from A to B,... without having to carry it , or dismantle it ?
Nelz the bike would be fine and a great asset, if you bring it, might be a better idea to use the North West route to the valley for all of us as there are about three styles on the western route, its hard granite chipping tracks(Hogging) that take you to the head of the valley, here's another map. You'll need to head from Lilswood Grange taking a southerly route through Harwood Shield and on to Riddelhamhope ruins, the area off the tracks in wild moorland with large grouse shoots to the West, so there'd be no problems about carrying weapons, having said that 2 or 3 trips in the combo would get everything to the site and would be a mega jolly.
Lets hope this snowy weather lasts until the 13th, jacked up a mate who's professional photgrapher for this, so the photos should be the highest quality images we can get.
Here's a map of how to get there and a link to Google maps for a better look. As stated earlier, we need to meet up at the Blanchland visitor car park, at 11 am on the morning of Sunday 13th Jan. The hike to Riddlehamhope takes about 25-30 mins.
Requirements
1) Please bring a black bin bag or cover for your weapons, we'll tape them up and stick them in our packs, as we'll be in a public car park to start off with.
2) A civvy coat/hiking jacket.
3) A large backpack for your gear (I have 6 hiking packs that I've scrounged for this, available if you are stuck)
4) Please wear your uniforms under your coats until we reach Riddlehamhope.
http://maps.google.com/
5) Bring as much and varied amount of kit and props as you have for this, parkas, greatcoats, peadot tunics, scarfs, headovers and wooly gloves. Although there are already a lot of props we have available for this the more the merrier.
6) Please try not to shave over the course of the weekend for the photoshoot, as we want everyone looking a bit rough.
7) Weapons, we need as many K98's as pos' for this so if you have one please bring it along as we'll be trying to field an authentically armed fully loaded 10 man Waffen SS infantry section, with 2 MG42's an anti-tank weapon, 2-3 MP40's max and the rest K98's.
Be prepared for a lot of swapping about at the start of this as we load ourselves up.
I don't think we've had anyone drop out yet, although Nelz might be stuck for a lift, so we should have a good turn out for this and get some real good shots. Any questions please PM me. Here's my mobile number in case you're stuck and/or are going to be late, or whatever 07957 630121
Thanks
Chris
Not wishing to sound like wet blanket on this great idea , however are you all quite sure you'll be legal?
My concern is that if you are carrying RIFS in a public place albeit a remote one you are in danger of being arrested (see attached link) . I take the point about there being pheasant shoots etc, however they are probably arranged with the landowners consent. If this is unfeasable, a chat with the local coppers to let them know a "reeanctment group are doing some filming" may stop any unpleasantries on the day . Personally would hate to see "SS WWII airsofters arrested in Northumberland" appearing in the news.

Apologies if this has already been sorted , the thread is a little unclear.
Been sorted with local plod.
Here's acouple of teasers, haven't got time to put any more up at the mo'. Didn't get half the stuff done that we wanted to, have to do this again in the near future, had a great day, thanks to all those that turned up, well worth it, even if the forced march was a bit longer than I originally said
Excellent !!!!....... Well done Chris,.... and everyone involved !! Pictures look Brilliant !!
Great stuf Chris. Excellent spot for a photo shoot. Well found. Now you just need to get out there and find another one for your next shoot.
Cracking shots there kameraden . If you ever consider making a short movie we have some contacts that might be interested.
Here's a few more from the photoshoot, took over 200 shots, and can't put them all up, but here's a selction of the best.
Wow guys, that looks really, REALLY good.
Excellent pics there. The mix of camo uniform really does add an aspect of realism to the pics when compared to pics from "back in the day"
