Nothing you could call generic. But I believe Plane tree was the most common.

Heres a good article, although I cant vouch for its veracity.

A type 1 Plane Tree smock will do the job for the vast majority of the war. Type 1's do not have the pockets or the foliage loops.

1942 I believe was when the introduction of loops and pockets, removal of slash vents occured.

The original poster asked for a generic camo though. '44 pea dot limits you to......'44 onwards right?
What happens if the airsoft game is set in 1941?
I dont think you would be turned away in pea dot but you would look better in a smock?
The £40 dot from Epic looks like the Sturm stuff?
It only has 4 of the real deals 5 colours. It's missing one of the greens. Plenty of people wear it but it's not exactly correct.

We all like the oak leaf nice and easy toget and looks good in Brown or Green
