Which helmet would best suit a late war 7th SS load out, 40, or 43? Or does it really matter?

My armoury;
Tanaka Kar98(1942 woodwork and parts), M1 Garand AEG(1940's woodwork and metalwork), MG34, SVT40, Mosin Nagant M44, MP40, PPSH41, Luger and PPK.

I would go for a M40 so you can use it for roughly any period of the war. The differences between an M35 and M40 are very slight, compaired to later models.

if your going waffen SS, a helmet cover will also 'hide' an M40 if at a late war event, although M35's/M40's etc were still around

It would'ent really matter..by 1944 all sorts of early war issued kit would of been reissued anyway..then you may want a helmet cover.

Hey there,

M35 and M40 are my favourite models but you can never go wrong with the M40 :good: as said earlier these models were used straight up to 1945 :)

This is the helmet I shall be using :)

German M40 SS SD with a rather nice camo which should go nicely with my SS Dot44 Tunic :)

Regards

Peter
