Subsequent to DC shenanigans. After I locked the thread after its conclusion, biguk said he was going to post but missed the boat. I offered to re-open it for him and this was his reply:
Nah...its fine. I was just writing about how we were in no way trying to organise a CiA revolution. We weren't grooming players to boycott your events.
I've expressed my views on forum with you in the past. So no need to post it up.
Would it help if we had a Dog Company section on CiA? Our ultimate aim is to feel like we belong here. Which over the past few months, has been difficult to see.
I have, in past private and public posts said that any group is welcome to have a section (if they use it - off topic, but Ashworth's group don't) and I feel this would be a very positive step forward for the WW2 community. Gadge held out and olive branch, so did I and biguk has accepted. Regardless of what we personally feel about persons or groups (everyone has has an element of twatishness about them) the 'big' picture is the important one. It still doesn't mean CiA games will have 101st written into them though!
I hold the Blaggers up as an example of what CAN happen and as a result benefited all.
I suggest we agree to this as a majority between the six of us .
My thoughts , despite thinking they are a bunch of cock snorklers , ( ok won't call them that again publically) , I agree to letting them come back . If we do this then we need to agree to bury the past and not jump on 'em at every opportunity . Also we will need to stop Del etc doing the same . It will be tough , but as you said in the interests of keeping everyone on board I'm ok with it .
Note that to me , making them some space on the forum is a different argument to accepting them at one of our CiA games, and we will have to discuss that if / when they try ot book in at oneof our events.
so thats two votes for ....
No argument from me... they've always been welcome. Though just like anyone else, if they act like twats they get told off... etc... etc...
Although SPiers has just sent me a PM being snide and accusing me of trying to start an argument....
re: "At the risk of a necro row..
Actually you argued the toss about easy co being at the battle for Arnhem until proved wrong and then on the day arrived in your US kit and we had to wait and delay the game while you and oddball fannied about getting changed...
Mate, I queried it and being brand new to WW2 airsoft dropped it immediately, I had absolutely no problem what so ever wearing the uniform, hell my Grandfather was in the paras! The argument was about whether Easy Company rowed across the Rhine with boats from Canadian engineers to bring back the paras, some people argued that it was the Canadians which it wasn't and I was right and in fact nothing to do with the actual gameplay
When we arrived at the Arnhem game everyone was still stood by their cars, I was stood next to Webby in formation while several people were still sorting themselves out. You can get as bloody annoyed as you like with me mate, within 10 minutes of arriving I was ready.
That comment was a BLATANT attempt to start an argument, nevermind saying it's water under the bridge as long as you get your word in it's ok! Doing things like that is EXACTLY what is wrong with some people on CiA. I was trying to be civil about this because I personally have no problem with CiA as an organisation which is why I wanted to post a polite statement and debate; fortunately you were there to lower the tone mate, congratulations!
Alex"
So as far as im concerned let them have a section but be wary...
Personally I think this whole affair has done them no end of damage given the feedback form the majority of their memebers being up set about it all... its spiers big ukl and aitch who have a problem with us.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
I received a copy of Spiers PM and have been in subsequent dialogue. All is fine now, I hope.
Anyhoo, that's a majority, lets see how it goes...
I think he needs to realise that he, biguk and aitchs are the instigators..
A public apology form the one bloke in that group whi is very sound means nowt if those those three carry on regardless trying to slate us behind our backs
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Agreed, hence bringing them under our wing. As Guy said, better the enemy within. Or something like that!
I think you mean...

That will be it!
Gets my vote.
I'm not as eloquent as Rich, but i'd rather have them inside the tent and pissing out, than outside the tent and pissing in.
When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
I think that's a far better way to say it what Sun Tzu came up with. Shows we're far more advanced than they were in ~400 BC.
I think you mean...
"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" Sun-tzu (~400 BC)
LOL thats exactly what I said !& yes I knew it was sun-tzu
I can quote Miyamoto Mushashi as well if need by .
Can I have the Smart arse of the month award now please
BTW I've deleted some more Pms sent to me by Spiers.. no idea what they said as i coudlnt be arsed to read them first...
He's obviously decided to go back to sniping behind the scenes.
If you delete a PM without reading it does it tell the poster?
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
I think he was trying to give you an apology. Part of what I got: I apologise in full for any comments that may have been made on the Dog company forum by myself or others...whether they were or not. I hope I will still be welcome and any further events.
Suggest we move on now - Dog Company now have a forum section, Alex and Matt are mods. Lets see how this goes.
(No idea about deleted PM's - I know if a sender deletes a PM before it is opened then the recipient gets notification. Tell you what, I'll send you a PM - just delete it!)
I've spoke to him now, it was an apology and i think we moved on to a conversation about cool kit now so all is well and good.
I only deleted them as i was a bit sick of the subject
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
And for the record, assuming you didn't open my PM, a deleted message appears to the sender as having been read.
No i didnt open your PM.
Ah right, some other forums i frequent tell you if a mail has been recieved, read or deleted you see.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Hmmm had a very damning PM about Dog Co from zero bravo.
I've asked him for his consent to air it with you.
