Anyone have a view on these 'for sales'?
Joker posts up and then another jumps on the bandwagon.
Surely 'looks like' is only a concession for someone with existing kit - not to buy stuff specifically for WW2?

Bin 'em.

I thought we didnt allow look al like gun sales.
I remember having a row with yith when he pulled my advert for selling my glock years ago for precisely that reason.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Heh, that settles it then. Yith can sort these two out!

Wtf??? why me! ![]()
The glocke is not a look-a-like weapon... it's just modern.
The AK is a look-a-like and does meet CiA' criteria... Until that changes I can see there being an argument.
Back in your court!
No rich as we quite clealry concluded last time.
CiA Criteria states that *any* pistol is acceptable thus selling a glock didnt actually breach the rules.
If its ok to sell an AK as a look a like then surely its ok to sell other guns that fulfil the criteria
Thats a logical tautology mate.
and i quote from this very site:
"Approved 'looks-like' weapon list.
If you come up with something not on the list and you think it should be then by all means post on our forum, bound to be something we haven't thought of.
MP5 = MP40 or Sten auto
M14 = Garand/G43 semi-auto
M14 / bipod must be used deployed = BAR auto
AK47 & AK74 with full stock = MP44 auto
AK47 & AK74 folding stock = MP40 auto
Any bolt action sniper without scope = K98/M1/Enfield single
Any bolt action sniper with scope = K98/Springfield/Enfield single
M249 or M60 must be used deployed = MG34/43, Bren or M1919 30cal (suitably converted with a card tube barrel cooler/cover then its a Vickers) auto
Any pistol with standard magazines."
My bold and red...

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
We need to stop M14s as well then, that'd screw things up a bit wouldn't it?
I just reckon we need a definite decision on what is okay and what isn't.
Before the AGM MP44, we probably wouldn't have had so much of a problem with AK sales as they could be conversions... but now?
I don't like the idea of me on my own making all the decisions on this...
Hehe, I wasn't putting the burden of decision on you Rich, just getting you to do the dirty work in deleting!
Given the choice of WW2 guns on the market and the relative maturity of the genre there is a good case to being a bit more restrictive - especially as chaps don't even take advantage of some of the concessions. When was the last time there was an MP5 - if ever?
CiA have discussed this in the past but since its never been a big deal wasn't pursued with any vigour. But, given our restricted player numbers then I'm pretty sure a tighter list wouldn't be a problem.
I wouldn't even discuss it or announce it. We were going to ban MP44s at Aerial (therefore AK47s) anyway.
But in a sense this is all a side issue. What organisers dictate as acceptable kit will vary - Warren, Josh, Manning, Taffy, PBI, CiA. So the looks-like principle still stands in general. And this is a community forum. In other words the forum policy is different from game policy.
My suggestion: given the delay in the AKs being posted and action being take lets like this ride. However, from now on sales can only be made for stuff appropriate to the era, since that is the purpose of the forum. Modern kit can be sold anywhere - we specialise, that's why chaps come here.

Not too worreid myself . don't want this turning into the AK47/M14 forum , but reckon look a likes ok if it doesn't get out of hand . Joker does custom stuf as well sos not desperate to bin him .
If they were spetnatz railed AK74s then would have a different view, but wookstocks are fine by me . Re pistols ...there are probly more period pistols than AEGs
