Bayonets are not allowed to be sharpened

Always brings a smile to my face when a bloke buys a german K98 bayonet and shows it to you, telling you how it's in unissued condition because it's not been sharpened  It was an offence in the german military to sharpen your bayonet, FFS, they should all have a squared off blade edge  But, you can't tell some of them. Also, usually the same bloke, saying they'd be good for hand to hand combat. Maybe if you hit someone over the head with the grip, but bugger all use for stabbing anyone. We tried it on a half pig, as an experiment to show how crap it was for this purpose :D You need a few pounds of completely linear force from a rifle for them to be any use.

Would a blunted edged bayonet do more damage than a sharp one?

The reason given for the blunt edge was that a sharpened edge will slice into bone and could stick, whereas a blunt edge will break the bone.

blunt does more damage, thats why you dont sharpen, especially the ribseperatrer angle.

Only on a small child , they tend to scream louder and longer as well ....typically 15-20 years in your dreams before you go for therapy .

Okay, back on topic.

Has anyone tried this shotgun in earnest? Is it any good? fps, accuracy, ease of pumping, reliability, build quality (etc).

For £24 it sounds quite appealing, especially now I know that airsoft world accepts AFRA membership.

Has anyone tried the suggested conversion?

I think I now have quite a few mags for this shotty... They're actually for my M14/M1 Garand conversion. Will they still fit in the shotgun after they've been converted? Though the pic of the mag on airsoft world seems to be of a JG Bar-10 one?? Am I right that airsoft world have put the wrong picture there?

I've got one of these and have used it a few times in game. its a great gun with exellent range. If you have the time and a few simple tools a wood kit isnt very hard to make for it either. Although I do belive you can buy them for this gun now.

Here is a pic of mine with my homemade wood kit on. Its far from perfect and wasn't really intended to be a trench gun it does the job.

That looks really cool, great job! Might get myself one of these too.

Yeah, not bad at all!

Would love to know though if modded mags still fitted. Having mags that can be shared with my garand would make this even more tempting!
