The lo-caps for the ACM Thompson - are they "20 round" or "30 round" size?
Has anyone successfully received an order from RSOV since he started shipping again?
I think I'm going to spend some more money....

They're 30 round size.
The only 20rnd size ones are the Marui 190rnd hicaps.
Does the SoF Thompson strap fit this OK?

Yup... it should... Remember for a British impression you want an Enfield sling not a US Thompson strap.

one thing to note the acm lo caps are all plastic. and quite chunky. could just be my eyes but they looked bigger than the TM ones to me

If I was a Stitch Nazi I'd also insist that the sling points be moved on the stock and foregrip... 
steer well clear of the acm mags, they are poo!,(universally rubbish whichever gun you get them for)
tm 30 round come in 420 hicap or 60 round locap flavours and tm do a 20 round 190 hi cap.
dont forget to tighten All screws on the acm thompson before you take it skirmishing! thing have a tendency to drop off when you least expect them!

had no problems with acm mags or the screws myself, you must of had a bad batch
I use the ACM mags which are prob cyma, only real diffrence is the paint is more matt, poss more durable than the TM paint, a bit tighter to fit in the gun (I use a TM Thompson ), a spray of silicone oil does help to aid the mag to fit in, even the TM has things that come loose, particularly the screw in the base of the grip,

Most airsofts have loose screw syndrome.
As long as airsofts are held together with grub screws you will have this problem from time to time, as Steve will tell you lock tight or some form of thread lock adhesive may be the only answer on some guns.
Even the full steel AK 74 I got from gunner had the same problem, when I lifted it out the box the whole front end slid off in my hand.
The VFC AKSU I have is one of the contradictions to this however, the way it is put together is excellent.
