I am slowly selling all my modern airsoft gear as ACU and M4's just don't do it for me anymore
So with the cash raised I would like your advice on what WW2 era weapon I should get out of the following
AGM MP40
SRC MP40
Or get a dboys Kar98 to do a springer
I have the donor springer already but have no experience on the inner workings of airsoft guns
I have trawler the springer projects forums but havnt found a step by step guide (for dummies) to help me
So what do you think?
Is there anybody in the Rochdale area that could help me if I go the Kar98?

Thanks in advance
Cad

Mags for AGM MP40s are relatively more available. I'm not sure if the SRC can use the same mags.

ba-humbug another german to kill, seriously though welcome to ww2 airsoft where you can't get a decent rifle.a rifle is the way to go if you can and just a thought ,get a dboys k98 shell ejector ,scrap the internals and fit the parts from yous springer, probably the simplest way to go .otherwise the agm mp40 is a tried and trusted gun were as the src is relativley new and you should check mag supplies as ive heard they are hard to get,but src themselves are good guns on the whole.the agm mp40 may become hard to get as agm has been closed down so spares may become hard to find.
so to sum up get a rifle,if not the agm is going to get rare and the src is rare but will become comonly avaidable(agm mags dont fit src).better still get a sten and be brit :good:

Cheers Dadio
Already have a US doughboy load out with a M1A1 so thought I'd have a German load out as well
If anybody has seen a complete guide to converting the dboys to a springer online if you could send me the link that would be awesome

Cheers

SRC keep shooting themselves in the foot WRT mags.
I'd have bought one of their MP5s months ago if they used "standard" mags. I, like many people, would forgive a small dimensional inaccuracy for the ability to use existing stocks of mags.

better still get a sten and be brit :good:

The Stens use AGM MP40 mags...

AGM MP40 all the way. Simple, reliable, proven and iconic. Get that first, then worry about a K98.

What about the stock wobble on the AGM is it as bad as some say?

I never use my stock... so I've never noticed wobble! I suspect it's the same with most owners of AGM MP40s.

It's hardly real steel is it? :giggle: I've harldy ever used the stock on my MP40 and any wobbling has gone unnoticed in the 4 (trouble free) years that I've owned mine.

AGM MP40 is the way to go as a starter that will give you time to explore the K98 springer in due course which from the conversions I have seen are great

Agreeing with the above the AGM mp40 is the best way to go for a starter, invest in a box of KA midcaps and you wont go wrong, happily accepted as "captured" weapon, so it will go with any loadout.

a set of bdu's

Are you sure?
A set of BD might be more suitable?
Another case of one letter making a huge difference to the context.
