I'm very pleased with mine, but the battery I got wasn't very good - it didn't hold its charge very well, so I got a 1300mA one. Power is 313FPS, range and accuracy are excellent for an SMG.

What are your thoughts: Brilliant looks and style , but selector swicth looks odd

Good / bad finish . mine has good finish 8/10 though paint can be scratched off

Range not fired it over 20m yet! but at 10m it shot right by 9 inches !!! .. inner barrel was well out of true. the barrels short and it can be wobbled slightly. it just needs some adjusting. it strips like the real steel as well

Battery life etc fired about 900 rds so far in 3 sessions, battreys still got charge

hope this helps , GREAT GUN

also get some thin foam to wrap around the battry or it rattles when you move

also you can put a rubber band from the hop assembly to the back of the cocking handle to allow the bolt to move forward after cocking

i wonder if you can make a gearbox assisted moveing bolt like the ak???

Here's my 5 cents
Battery was a bit of a hit or miss affair, sometimes it held it's charge sometimes it didn't. Replaced with a 1400 MaH from ebay.

Some people have had problems with hop up adjustment, my works perfectly for what I want, it is not a sniper rifle.

I purchased extra mags from RSOV, some were a little reluctant to feed when about halfway through. A squirt of silicone, a good 'rodding' and a thorough wipe cured that problem.

Overall I think mine is excellent, for the price I believe you can't go wrong. At my local site (GZ) it always attracts attention.

On the ww2aa boards someones done this on a Thompson, I'll try and find the thread when I get home tonight and post a link, I can't at the moment because our wonderful security team  has managed to block access to that site at the moment :(

There value for money, I moan about them but they are good for the price, the later ones u buy now have longer screws to secure the barrel, the build quality on the inside of the gearbox seems better, the hop unit is nasty & not quite the same as a AK, to replace the hop & barrel you need to chop it with a saw & re asseemble with tape & glue :? the Air seal nozzle is a one off & nothing I have found will fit it, have a close look at the spring, its rather hefty, I guess its stronger than a M100 but with the air loss through the poor barrel & hop/nozzel it still shows fairly low on a chrono, I put a M100 in mine & the fps dropped to 290fps, so for the gearbox u may as well leave it alone & just fit a better barrel & a new hop rubber, why they opted for a barrel with a sealed non servicable hop unit beats me, but nothing a junior hack saw, tape & glue cant fix,

I have two, the first one i got the hop was out and it was shooting to the left, I replaced the hop and barrel and bingo! it was luvverly my battery is OK no complaints obviously not as good as some of my others but i've used it for a whole day of skirmishing at GZ. the second one i got this week - bakelite version, seems better than the first - certainly the bbs fly straight and true..... so I am very happy withit..... wish they would do an mp44 though...

We must learn not to smile so much though

Back on topic....

Overall, i'm quite happy with mine, now i've ripped out the standard barrel and Hop-up rubber and replaced them with an MBA barrel and a Guarder hop rubber. Mags seem a bit hit n miss. Some seem to hold more than others!

I don't use the standard battery, I use a 1400 MaH 9.6v. Rate of fire is quite acceptable on the 9.6v, though you eat through locaps pretty quickly.

I suppose my only complaint about the gun is the stock. It's a LOT more wobbly than the ones on my TOP MP40's - but at the price, i can forgive it the odd annoyance.

Used mine for the 1st time proper at Arnhem didnt have a problem with it all day i am well pleased with it, i didnt use the batt that came with it i have bought 2x 1400mah 8.4NiMh but one lasted all day, iam considering changing the barrel and hop rubber. It was amazing to see so many MP40s at the game but they all looked so pristeen but thats only because i have weathered mine it looks like its been to the eastern front and back again lol mind you with the awards and decorations on my tunic i should have aswell

Out of interest, how did you do that?

I've heard of a couple of people with Wobbly Stock Syndrome, but I am currently not affected by that. :)

There are a couple of ways i did mine... 1st flat screw driver to scrape some paint off 2 emery board sand down paint, i only did this to the high points on the body of the weapon where it would wear over a period of time and finally silver paint. Dip end of your finger in and just before it dries rub vigourisly and it fills the tiny indentations should put a silver/grey effect on it. Its trial and error for the effect you want, you can always spray it black again.

my mp40 got weathered at the arhnem game.

its amazing what dragging it round an urban site can do to an aeg

it scratched and scraped all over., with some lovley gouges in the bit at the back, (stock folded), i HAD to remove some broken glass from a window frame :? , and for an authentic look i used the butt (folded).

also the barrel took lots of cosmeic bashing, do to resting it on walls and sticking it over frames that had glass in the beading.

it dosent have the WORN look tha emery gives, but i defenatly dosnt look new

Sounds about right from HK. RSOV is the same kind of money, I've noticed he's dropped both MP40's now, the black finish is
