I see that ZIB are making a replica MG34
Has anyone tried to adapt these to airsoft? Or is it just too damn tricky?
Heidi and I looked into these before the Custom MG-42's were built.
They have a solid receiver - so not a viable option at the time
Have you got a link? If the rest of the parts are usable, and it's not hideously expensive, i could probaly machine a fake receiver to fit an M14 box.

Ah, not so good then. I will need an MG34 for the sidecar, eventually, but that's a long-term project, after i've actually got the damn thing rebuilt. 
Has the prospect of a reasonably priced MG34 sunk without trace now then?
If so I will resurrect the MG34 cobble up project.

Those mg34's are actually made by Sturm and are just sold by Zib. There are quite a few german militaria companies that sell them!
