Looks gorgeous! Anyone know any more? I couldn't find Guinness's post on the US board.

wood looks great but as i said on arnies front handguard(and possibly gasblock) looks to short. kinda closer to a tanker model

other thing worth checking is whether its a proper gasblock or casting etc and certain pressure bearing parts cant be imported
although he does imply it isnt real steel

Looks nice, these are the same people who are doing the tommy 1928 kit, based in the Philippines I believe ![]()
Guzzi,
Thanks for posting it here mate! I had thrown it up on the WW2AA board, but it seems to have gone missing along with one about his new Thompson kit.
Anyway, I have sent Richard detailed sizes and pictures of the Garand buttplate so he can make the stock even more correct- As you see the one in those pics is from a M14.
I'm hoping to get one of his Thompson kits in as well for a review-
Question- has anyone received an order from him yet? The reason I ask is I have been advised 'behind the scenes' that he promotes and then isn't so quick to fulfill orders- I don't want to raise the alarms or anything without cause, but I also don't want to be associated with promoting him if products never ship after money is given.

From Richard:
"Two types of hard wood. Namely "Lanka" and "Kamagong" The texture of Lanka are the wood we utilize for the M1 and M14 know for its detailed wood grains while the Kamagong is very hard wood stripes of brown and black patterns as shown on my attached file. muzzel break will also be included in the package."
I couldn't find any references to a "Lanka" tree or hardwood- only the country 'Sri Lanka' ![]()

I'll ask my cousin's wife - she's Sri Lankan lol
On the other point , yes, ive heard exactly the same thing ![]()

Guzzi,
I'm sure it will be fine- you will be the first person to get it and do a review. I was just checking to see if any one had received the product yet.

Please post a review when it arrives. If it's as good as it looks, there will be few orders going to the Phillipines!
Cheers

The Front end is defo the Tanker version... however it is missing the Bayonet lug on the bottom of the gas barrel. Other that that it looks very nice! ![]()

The Black brace attaches to the top of the inner barrel on the real M1 Garand, maybe on the M14 it is just the suitable position for it, allbeit closer to the receiver... still looks good though.

Looking at those pics, a HUGE question is raised.
Why go to the hassle of manufacturing the stock, heatshield and foregrip, and gas assembly, but get it all wrong in the sizing department?
The stock is too long at the front, the foregrip too short, and the gas parts are wrong. Not to mention the lack of the foreward sling swivel. The buttplate, well, thats wrong, but sorting that out is already in hand from whats been said earlier in this thread.
I suppose what i'm trying to say is that if you're going to do something like this - when you obviously have some pretty heavy duty fabrication kit in your workshop - then why get it wrong, when it wouldn't take much more effort to get it right?
Anyone else thinking along the same lines?

aye kermit the thought had crossed my mind. maybe im being a gun stitch counter but looks all wrong for me

And at least now I will be able look at my AGM M14 without feeling ill.
I take it from that, that looking at an EBR M14 would cause immediate vomiting then? ![]()

When I did my conversion I cut the M14 Gas tube down (involved shortening the spring guide too) and epoxied a piece of brass tube sprayed black to act as the M1 gas tube - 1/2 inch diameter I think it was - anyway it fits neatly inside the gas block and slides when the cocking handle is pulled.

According to Richard, the reason for the basic shape and configuration of his kit is due to the size and layout of the M14 and not so much the correct size and configuration of a real M1 Garand. Hence the use of an M14 buttplate on his kit, and coincidently why I'm sending him correct measurements etc for a Garand buttplate.
Oddly enough, I couldn't just send him off one in the mail- I had to make detailed drawing and pictures and send those. Something about gun parts importation into the Philippines- weird.
Slainte!

Having just got 1 of Warren's M1s made from an M14, it can be done and look good. I had an ACM M14 in pieces when I was making my BAR out of it, thinks can be cut down if theyre in the way.

Well we got as far as P&P prices on the AZR kit before Rhys stepped in and pointed out the shortcomings mentioned above.
Not sure what to do now.
Maybe Guinness can persuade his new business partner to do some more work on this one as well as the thompson....?
