Hi there I have been reading about the Germans taking over the FN Factory in Belgium during the war and using the Browning as a side arm. Having been issued with it myself and used it extensively it is a great gun. My son Sven (Good Germanic name!!!) picked up a lovely full metal spring Colt at War and peace and I think I might slide that away until I can get a P38 or Luger or he brings it along.
My question is this. What type of holster would they have used? Does anybody have any experience of putting it inside a P38 holster. Would it fit?

This is about a 1911 in a P38 holster:

Bear in mind the Browning is a bit bigger.
Yep saw that Hope that is the case so the colt will fit.
Did they use the p38 holster or something else?

If I remember correctly the Germans did use the Colt 1911 in very limited numbers and normally only in Norway. They were part of a Norwegian Army contract and home production that the Germans captured. Now very rare and collectable as Colt and German collectors both want them.

There is a dedicated Browning holster, both originals and repros exist. The last vendor I saw with repro was IMA in the USA. http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php ... cts_id/639
My repro has a large totenkopf stamped on the rear and is in more reddish brown leather but is otherwise similar to the IMA model.
