First complete fitting of all parts, some little details to do, but quite pleased with the "lookalike" Carcano, vsr 10 based. Now have to power down!
Great stuff
well done
Took it all apart again, to finish off last little niggles, and to power down to 350-ish on the fps, but managed to up the power! So it's coming out again!
Also thought I'd tough up the trigger box, fitted real metal parts in,
Have done this before, doesn't always go to plan straight off, take a bit off "fettling" sometimes, so if anyone wants to do this be prepared to pull the trigger box to bits a few times!
Here's what I've done as mag release, done away with all wood, made metal plate with slider catch.
Andy
A few more pics on the mag release, also got it down on power to just under 350fps,........poor thing, like a dog, just been neutered! Feels horrible! Will have to tweek the hop unit to try and get some distance on it.
A few more,
Took the Carcano to the Tarawa game on Saturday, performed well, got a few good shots in, pleased with accuracy and distance seeing as it's only about 350fps.
No problems with action on usage, but did notice now that I have fashioned a steel charge handle, it is wearing into the monkey metal receiver when closing the action.
So I've made a little ramp from steel to stop the wear problem.
Very Nice
