With that information come to light, its a copy of Marushin's first generation K98 - before they went all Gas powered!

I`d heard a while back that the chinese had tried to turn the Tanaka 98 into a springer but had hit problems, which would explain why they went for an earlier non gas model, just a shame about the cartridges :?

how did they work in the earlier version? hold more than 1 bb? eject afterwards? etc

I`m assuming the cartridge holds 1 bb and the shell ejects (like the original) which makes it a pain in the arse for skirmishing, much like the marushin gas model.

K98's are a bit easier than Springfields, I've done 2 myself.

As has been said before, many times, the shell system is a pain for skirmishing purposes but the Marushin gun looks lovely and firing it is an absolute joy - it 'feels' and looks a lot more authentic in terms of its operation - I'm very happy with mine and will be taking a look at the new Dboys one now that I know about it - :D

Lovely weapon for the price I've got a mate who runs a site based airsoft shop, "Andy's Airsoft" I've asked him if he would import them from Gunner in Hong Knog, and he's willing to do it if we can get a few orders. If anyone is interested, as I am, put your name down and he'll order them up for you, I'll get a full price asap and could bring them to the next event.

OK just got my own UKARA number sorted out, still waiting for a final price from Andy, but it should be at "mates rates" so that's me, Steve D and Sgt Heide up for one of these. Going to put a wooden stock on mine and Steve rekons that there might just be a possibility that a VSR 55 round mag could just fit in so doing away with the shells, worth a try for the cost involved.

I was thinking of shoehorning a whole mp-001 or VSR-10 in to one, retaning the 98k stock & front end, juat an idea, don't fancy loosing all the shells,

Some more pics... of the Kar 98

http://www.airsoft-news.eu/news.php?item.1730.1

Kind of looks like these are pics of a prototype... the bolt finish is not as nice as on the RSOV pics.
