Started making my custom mosin nagant this friday, and all is going to plan. I've made the front handgrip and the fake magaxine, as well as shaped the stock. All that needs to happen now is adding metal tubing on the end, getting strips of metal for stock bands, and painting it!
pictures coming soon

i have been looking at getting an airsoft mosin nagant to compliment my Ppsh, and, seeing as the only company that sells one is selling it for about £500, A am starting a custom build. These pictures will show you the progress made in about 3 hrs on friday. Great thanks to the guy who did the tutorial for me

Progress (bolt and stock filled with epoxy putty)
(these will be sanded/ filed smooth as they are very rough at the moment)
Nice going so far! Same as my approach. Except i used a Bar10 pro instead of the G-spec. How do you plan to deal with the extra width of the suppressor?
The plan is to use putty to make the barrel protude more (the same diameter as the silencer). Then a band of epoxy will be wrapped around the the beggining of the barrel (the end of the plastic stock) and painted to look like metal. That was a bit of a fail description I know...
Silencer end drilled out, with copper pipe. This will be cut down soon
a nice way of doing it using wood instead of steel.
I may try one of these myself,

So guys, it's been months now an no progress. I apoligise sincerely for this, and now I have only final pics of it finished to show. The dummy mag still needs to be added, as well as a rear K98k sight.
The wood grain is actually wood effect paint, don't worry you're about the 5th person it's fooled. I was a bit dissapointed with the lightness of it, but I plan on going over with a dark varnish
I like that, it could pass for a generic WW1 and WW2 rifle. A jap Arisaka, a German gew98, add the fake mag and it`s a russki Nagant. Nice

Nice idea that.
So is it wood or plastic?
Finishing wood properly from scratch is a lot harder than most folk anticipate.

I think the stock is plastic, the other wood parts are wood?
Actually gents none of its wood, really looks the part though, saw it for real at my local site sunday just gone!
really well done good job.you know if manufacturers start makeing all these ww2 gun's it will in some ways be a shame as all these projets wil end ,or maybe we'll find even more rare gun's to make.you could try a dark varnish on it to darken it,you'v done sutch a good job on the wood efect it would be a shame to have to do it again.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
Yes a dark varnish is the next stage!
Here we go! This has been varnished with a dark wood effect, and looks darker in real life to what it looks like here:
EDIT: There is a front sight but it has been knocked off, will be put back on today
