Anything which makes WW2 more accessable is a good thing. Hopefully it will pave the way for yet more WW2 guns. We all agree that its perhaps not spot on, the same was with the MP44. But its a million times better than what we had. How many times have we seen M4s AKs and such. So well done for making something different. Bloody big mag though. Ammo debate anyone?
Sorry... its not a million times better. M1A1s were already available and were accurate, unlike this.
On the mag yes.. too big. We don't need it and don't want it in our low ammo limit games! Its clearly not aimed at WW2 airsoft in the UK.
why dont you allways stop moaning about it and do something more productive to change it, like do it your self?
Bit of a misplaced rant there, i'm afraid, just telling people to 'make a difference and do it yourself' doesn't help anything. Like a lot of others on here, while i can, and do make ww2 guns, it's not my business, it's a *hobby*. There isn't the market in airsoft to make it my business, especially in these economic conditions, even if i wanted to. My business is I.T, it pays better and is a hell of a lot more secure.
It's not my/our place to revolutionise/put the airsoft market right, that's what the companies should be doing, if they wanted to actually sell more guns, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with complaining when they totally and utterly f*ck it up.
Indeed, complaining should be encouraged, if we didn't complain and make a noise every so often, we'd all still probably be playing with Ak's.
Which is all fair enough... but won't stop me (and hopefully others) complaining.
I really do feel sorry for anyone who buys this gun thinking they've got a good replica of a Thompson 1928.
Perhaps if the manufacturer understands that doing half a job doesn't sell anything then they'd try a little harder. If they'd done a proper job then they'd sell a hell of a lot more of these than they will with this half arsed try.
well put Lettucehead you are spot on!
too much rivet counting going on here me thinks it is airsoft not re-enactment anyone who wants to buy an airsoft replica gun can easily look on the internet and see the differences if they need to, i still think it is a much better item for a brit loadout than the guns most use at the moment.Warrens kit is great! it is accurate enough for airsoft and after all that is what this whole forum is based on.
however,
I do Agree that it is a shame its not a spot on copy of the 1928, but look at the M2 carbine for example,,,,"wrong" but it is good enough to "play a game "with. and the more ww2 impressions that are offerd, the better it should get if the interest is there and the money available. I would have bought this instead of the bad castings I made mine from, and i am able to fix problems like that, I know others have had and are having an awfull time of it.
I realy do think that all this constant negativity isnt doing any of us much good.
like i said, and as for the Missplaced Rant, it was a rant about ALL the twats who send negative comments when people DO get off there arse and try, I will make NO money from these guns and it is also not my business and IS my hobby also, which is why i have been trying so hard to improve things rather than just moan on here
with my thanks for listening I think i will leave it there gentlemen
Good bye
Im with Doug and Lettucehead on this one. Just be thankful they are making WW2 and earlier guns. There feeding the growing market. and listening to what people want.
I love it..I might get one. but dont slate it just from a picture. Cos whats the point in that.

The point is to try and get them to do things right...
Well, I'll wait until they're actually out before I pass judgement. But, even if they're not "right", there's still the potential to put it right. If the barrel and foregrip are ok, I'd fancy a go at getting the receiver right. (could live with the stock being wrong). Drum mag I could take or leave, as long as it took TM 190 rounders.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I can understand...but it looks like a 1928 to me, and to the majority of potential buyers out there. But to you guys that are seeing it from a more "reenactment" point of view are obviously wanting more detail.
Yup... I'll say again. It's just a shame they didn't do their research and get it right.
And your point about re-enactors is right, they will notice the difference and hence that's a potential market that won't bother with it.
This is great news because it means that they'll be producing tommy drum mags that fit the M1A1 body and therefore the AZR kit I have
As for the AZR kits, the body is 10x more accurate than the Cyma one pictured and you can get an excellent front end kit from Gunners for 70 bucks (the AZR woodwork is sh1te and I wouldn't fancy re-painting their barrel kit) so #2
Also it means that the ACM tommy will soon be back in stock. I have the Cyma one and it's excellent #3
And for the re-enactment market there are replicas and de-acts..... fer F**ks sake this is AIRSOFT! Grown men playing at soldiers with toy guns that fire 'ickle plastic balls... So for the mean time I for one am glad that a manufacturer is going to bring something out that will give the Brits a better choice of weaponry for their loadouts , the more choices of affordable weapons the better IMHO.
What will Cyma sell next? AK47s with StG44 front ends? This is just sad.
In the words of Harry Hill...
This is a fight between the re enacters and the airsofters. Who will win? there is only one way to find out...
fight fight fight fight.....

well, if people are complaining about the odd bits that are wrong on it, if you try and make a 1928 from a standard tommy why not use that as your base? theyre done most of it already, no need to worry about that drum mag and foregrip
i shall get one if it is the price they say it is.
do you think it will go with a m44 airborne loadout? (:
Tom.
Now a 'namsofter. I have an M72 L.A.W. for sale for 110 posted, PM if interested.
Well, the middle of March is upon us, and no sign of this Cyma attept at a 1928. I was really hopinging I'd be able to buy one for my birthday tomorrow...

That's Ok, all the Jerries now have MP44's with hi-caps!
I was just browsing the other forums and noticed this link that appears to show a Thompson with a drum mag, thought some here might be interested.
