For those into making mods this would be easy to fit into an original WW2 stock.
Video will be uploaded later about 8.30 ish

Cost about £65 each.

Interesting stuff. More or less what I expected.
A gun that needs some work to really be usable, but isn't a complete waste of time.
The hop needs a strip down to sort out these wild shots, maybe the barrel is also poor I did notice some green near the tip of the muzzle on one of the barrels.
It could be Cyma made a load of these and are not so proud of the results.
If they can be sorted out they may be the basis of some new rifle designs by modifying them.

On Friday night about 11pm I got the urge to strip this down.
Anyway I lost a few bits on the floor some small springs but found them next morning.
Anyway by 2.30 am I had changed the barrel to an old AEG barrel and it has improved the accuracy very much.
Does anyone know the difference between a GBB rifle barrel and an AEG barrel as I was considering ordering a rifled airsoft barrel for a test but can only find GBB rifled steel barrels at the moment.
I presume they are still the same OD as an AEG version but may need the hop end re-shaped.
I had to file the AEG barrel to fit inside the M1 Carbine hop, will give you some photos next time I strip it down.
I think there was too much hop on the original barrel and set-up
Barrel GBB

The cutout on a GBB barrel is different, like a VSR's. Also, "rifled" barrels don't work above 330fps, something to be aware of.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

Thanks mate so would just have to chop the hop end off, and no point in rifling anyway as the No of turns per inch is wrong for the FPS.

I was thinking about this again are you sure they are no good over 330 fps as not many AEG's, GBB's or sniper rifles fire at so low an FPS.
Remember this old video of an M14 conversion.

Everything I've heard about them says they're only really effective at medium and lower velocities. The higher you go, the worse they work. Something to do with the airflow being too fast for the grooves and the bb not being able to "ride the wave" properly.

Well could be ok for this then as they say the M1 is sub 300 fps, not having a chrono I can only go by the damage it makes on known items in my garden in terms of dents etc and they back this up so may give this a go as an experiment. So if I cut the hop end off and dremel a new hop end on I should be ok.
Thanks for the info have wanted to test one of these barrels for a long while also the rifled barrel in steel will give a nice look and confuse a few people

I've got a Tanio Koba Twistbore in my SMLE, and it's running at about 330. It's by far more accurate and has closer groupings than the previous barrel that was in it, that was allegedly a 6.03.
I tried changing the springs up to the 450fps one, and it lost a lot of the grouping over the same distance, so I'm inclined to believe what Pete said, which is the general opinion of twistbores.
Did these hit the retailers in the UK or did I miss out?
Not as yet mate have to get them from HK.

Guess these didn't make it over here then, seems a shame to let them slip away. Anyone know of a decent source for getting one from Asia? I can't seem to find anywhere that has both the rifle and spare mags in stock.
Only place in Asia seems to be here http://www.cop9gun.com/shop/product_info.php?currency=USD&products_id=1641&language=en&osCsid=b3acf586068fada24f099910ac56a423
Bit of a shame that a UK supplier couldn`t source these.
The mags are still probably available from various US stores.
Sorry for the thread resurrection but it annoys me that not one UK retailer bothered to stock these. Airsoft Megastore in the US has them up for $30 now with spare mags at $5. A while ago they had the gun on sale for $20 and mags at $2.
Not quite the same thing, but I noticed that gunfire.pl is now stocking the cheap Well M1 carbine. It's still low powered and likely to break easily but at least you don't have to have it in bright orange or pay tax.

It doesn`t look bad in the wood effect. A chap on the US forum tested one out in a few games, he reckons it`s quite useable and reliable.

Hi all been away a good while.
Does anyone know where I can get a mag for this in the UK as I lost one of mine at the X-Site I did think it would turn up in my kit but it never did.
Anyway good news is a guy has just fitted a wood stock on one of these and will post some photos on here soon. He has just informed me via youtube.
