After requests to display test results of the K98 springer, I have done a quick range test.
Im not going to review it as such,(im crap at writing up things) also guiness has done an excelent review already here
http://ww2aa.proboards45.com/index.cgi? ... 1197008859

im just showing grouping, and a video on the features and functions of the rifle.

here they are.

Grouping.

I was fireing useing a table as a rest, at a A4 piece of paper @ 25m range (hits marked with a black ring), cold day, light swirling wind. .25 marui bb ammo

I fired 25 rounds at the target.

First five were "rapid" from standing positon, unsupported. these are marked with an X through the black ring.

3 "Hit" the paper, 2 went over the target by two inches and dented the wooden fence.

i then fired 4 x 5 rounds (20 total) all from kneeling , useing table for support

1 BULLSEYE
15 "hits on paper" (marked only with black ring)
4 misses 3 over the target, 1 below

see picture here

-- attachment is not available --

This was using the Rifle "out of the box" no adjustment at all :D

im confident of 80% hit rate at 25m on a normal game day.

Tonight , i hit a pidgeon at 40 - 50m on the second round, 1st hit low by 6 inches, second hit, for definate, he twitched and flaped and he flew off 8)

I would skirmish this gun

heres a link to the video , showing loading , ejection, bolt removal and safty catch

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onDaMWYI0UY

Hope this helps people to decide if this gun is for them or not

John, must agree- with shell ejections - they fall at your feet so not bad for gathering the spent cases

Nice vid Anthony, certainly opened my eyes regarding the shells ejecting, I had visions of them flying 3 foot away. :)

I've gone for one. Ordered a wooden stock and a supply of stripper clips and cartridges to go with it.

HOLD ON A MINUTE!!!!! No one told me you could get hurt doing this Airsoft thingy.....I quote '3 "Hit" the paper, 2 went over the target by two inches and dented the wooden fence.'

Dented a wooden fence???? Might invest in some body armour...or due to lack of funds plenty of rolled up newspapers!!!

Tommy and airborne helmets make a loverly ding.

What always gets me though is with a tommy helmet when the bb hits and then travels around the outside of the helmet and you get a very odd "shing" noise around your head.

Its happened twice to me now... no idea if its real or imaginary, but its very odd!

the fence was waney lap fence, and the dents were only 2/3 mm deep

the only time you get hurt is real close up (under 10 feet) , or hit in the teeth

and most CIA player do use common sense, there isnt much overkill at cia games

just ordered another 15 rounds and 3 stripper clips from gunner airsoft, 41 quid including the shipping :D

i figure ill never fire more than 20 rounds b4 i die / get chance to reload the shells anyway

20 rounds and 1 pistol speedloader, and ill be set for the day :D

no more big ammo bills, gas bills or battrys going flat.

just got to upgrade the spring in the bolt now, any one tried it yet ???????????

Loading one round at a time into shells... Sounds like my revolver! lol

I wouldn't bother with a speed loader, they kick 4 out at a time... Just take a handful from a bag and pop them in by hand.

I seem to remember Josh AKA Gunman had a load of shell he wanted to get rid of too. Might be worth a PM.
