Helo guys . I have the Erma Stg. 44 and want to lower the fps of the stock gun from 420 to 350 so that I can use it at airsoft sites. Is there a spring available to replace the stock spring. Any advice would be great as i am new into the hobby.

the spring that would do it would either be an m100 or m110 ,the former giving 330fps the latter 350 fps both only rough estimates so to be safe an m100 as an m110 might still be a little over the 350 fps mark

rsov are cheep and reliable but obviously delivery from china takes time.

fire support also very good uk based but the 100 is out of stock.
the prefix sp or m can vary depending on brand but the 100 or 110 is a standard that is generally followed by most brands.
hope that helps

Also just as gavin has said above the fps are only estimates. have you got any on site guys at the site you regularly use who do upgrade work? might be worth having paid a bit more but at least you know the fps will be checked and at the level you want rather than just changing the spring not checking it and then when it gets chrono'd at an event its too hot. Just a thought.
and also welcome to the forum nice to see the midlands group growing. :good:

Hey guys,
Is the "ERMA" STG44 body STEEL and wood (as I believe the AGM version is), or the more usual Mazac type often found on metal airsoft guns? Only ask as it seems a little cheaper than the AGM version? I would have assumed its a straight copy of the AGM gun? Only ask as I'm after an STG44 myself so would be handy to know?

Many thanks for any definitive info from owners!

neither are steel but the usual Chinese alloy (not plastic though).if you are thinking of stripping the paint and re-finishing it then the agm metal takes a nice colour from birchwood Casey ally black, but don't strip the gas tube over the barrel as its brass unless you use liver of sulpher as that gives a nice colour.

Ahh I see, so neither are steel then. Many thanks for that, handy tips there as I would no doubt end up refinishing it at some point! :good:

no "steel" is used in describing airsoft guns that are made of metal not plastic but never usually mean's its made of ferrous iron compounds with very few exceptions.
