its allways possible to reduce power it will just take a little tinkering, the problem is when its the other way around.its kind of to be expected with co2 but not a real problem.

Do you think the 350fps is measured with the supplied .30bb?
I am very tempted.

I'm sure not. On the RA Tech video he said (in ingrish) he was using 0.2g for his chrono test rather than the 0.3g supplied in the box.
And Airsoft Warrior wouldn't quote fps for anything other than 0.2g else they would get a shed load of returned unskirmishable rifles!

I have to confess, were I thinking of buying one I'd be in a pickle which version to get! I assume the difference is just down to the magazine setup - in which case, should spare mags be obtainable, then I would probably have to have both types!

Land Warrior assured me they would have both types of mags as spares.
They ESTIMATED a price of £35 per mag.

Have to say based on that video, I'm rather unimpressed with the consistency. 25fps fluctuation between 1st and 3rd shot! I thought this would be a lot more consistent being Co2 but it seems not :| . That sort of variation is not something you want on a sniper rifle.

I'd say the 350fps version would be the better option.

thats the problem if the co2 bulb is venting straight into the barrel when the valve is operated it will be very inconsistent.
airguns use a secondary chamber that lets the co2 stabilize before release reducing variation between shots.

Same with paintball guns (proper ones, not the shite that you rent when you go to stag-do's!). Some sort of regulator is essential for consistency. Still awaiting a review!

There is still the issue of spare magazines. Thats what is stopping me.

The '450' mag will give in excess of 500(try 570-580....), with an extreme of 650 having been reported from friends from abroad.

I'd avoid them to be honest, once the bulb starts to become empty, performance tails off, and other than venting them, theres hee-haw that can be done with them.

More alarmingly, the striker on the bolt, which strikes the hammer plate, which then in turn strikes the valve on the magazine, is made of cheese. Expect EXTREME wear and tear straight out the box.

I like the hop adjuster, otherwise the tanaka trumps it in every department. Fit, finish, material quality, consistency....For the price of the G&G you can get a second hand tanaka.

I had a quick look at the G&G this morning - ho-hum. I thought it was a plastic stock - it certainly looked like it. The matt black painted metalwork looked rather 'airsoft gun'. Regardless of its mechanical advantages or disadvantages it had none of the desirability of the Tanaka which in handling, feel and looks is peerless.

A pity. Mind you, the cynic in me says that the faults with this gun open up the market to G&G for "upgrade parts".

well thats no bad thing when a manufacturer has the stones to say they have a problem and fix it as well as replacing faulty parts on existing guns.so many company's will just carry on producing a faulty product because the market has little competition, just look at the dboys k98 nobody's happy with it but it stays the same because there's no competition in that end of the market.as for being too powerful im sure that can be overcome with a little thought.

Well i just got mine on hand. And here's the good news: Mine already came with a steel hammer and a steel firing pin. I guess G&G really listens to their customers.

Here are some other things that weren't mentioned in the above review:
Front sight is adjustable for windage
Stock band retaining spring is steel (not plastic like in the dboys)
Hop up has a set screw. Loosen it first before adjusting or you risk breaking the hop gears. Once clicked into your desired hop, you can leave as is or tighten the set screw to make sure it won't move again.
Trigger is a 90 deg system, but trigger pull is a little hard...maybe with better lube it'l be smoother
Unfortunately, i don't have any 8g CO2 cartridges on hand so i have yet to test fire it.

But wow, is it beautiful...and solidly built.
